I Am Fortunate Because…

  • I am a natural optimist. No matter how far down I go, I know I will rise again.
  • I have enough common sense to go to a professional person when I find myself floundering {I am thinking specifically here of the grief counselor I went to who was so helpful when a good friend died suddenly}
  • Fred and I basically like the same music. This entry is because he plays classical music through his computer most of the day and I really enjoy it.
  • my sons are both good men making their own livings and there for me when I need them.
  • I feel I have a very special and strong relationship with the younger one. This is because largely I brought him up alone {every-second-weekend father}, but also because “the geek kid” as I call him with affection, is a very special, kind and loving human.
  • I am having a high energy day today so far which means as well as laundry, it is possible I may get in two walks. {One is taken for granted!}
  • I have a good adult-to-adult loving relationship with my only sister.
  • my landlords are very nice people who let me use their hot water, electricity and washer and dryer every Monday. {Short pause here to go downstairs and put a load in the dryer and a new load in the washer!}
  • against all odds {he lived in Vermont and I lived in Mississippi} Fred and I found each other. {If you don’t know how this happened and are interested, go to my front page and look for the chapter called “How Fred and I met”}
  • I have an IPod. Yes, really! This wondeful gadget makes the daily walks enjoyable.
  • I am finding it fairly easy to maintain my weight at 160.
  • I live with a person who encourages me in everything I do and who is a cheerleader for every improvement no matter how small.
  • I am basically a healthy person and I can deal with the age-related osteoarthritis in my hips with the help of OTC medication.
  • I have a doctor who thinks the same way as I do {low doses of medication only if nothing else will work} and who has shown me yoga poses that help me to keep the restricted flexibility in my hips as long as possible.
  • the two types of cancer I have had {renal and endometrial} were both treatable. {I have been cancer free for six years from the first and four years from the second.}

Until later…

This entry makes me smile…especially because the Ipod made the list šŸ™‚

Now this was a beautiful entry.

What a nice list. Nice to read that you have been cancer-free for so long. Also, I’ve said this before: I love Fred. When you wrote that he is supportive of all you do, I wondered, where is MY Fred? Does he have a brother? Possibly a clone? Never hurts to ask. *s* Claire

Blessed, indeed! Which yoga poses? I have a problem with hip flexibility and am trying to improve it.

Once again you inspire me. I had a lousy day, but even on lousy days I need to stop and think about all the good I have in my life. You just happened to count your blessings here today, and I am going to count mine. THANKS! Oh by the way, I finally read your front page and know you’re from England. We lived there for 3 years, near Oxford. What a beautiful place! Weesprite

This is a really up entry. It was nice. I hope you read my morals and tell me what you think. Well I love the fact you always say what you think. I respect that. I hope I am close to all three of my kids when they grow up. It’s neat to watch the changes in them and who they are. They are neat people. Take care. Blessings.
