Time the Fourth!

No one can say I am not a glutton for punishment since this is the fourth time I have tried to write an entry here. The other three times I got into about the second paragraph and then *I* did something silly and lost it before I could save. It would be nice to have automatic save, wouldn’t it. Of course, I could solve this problem by writing in Word where I do have automatic save but I am just too stubborn and set in my ways to do that!

My other lost-forever entries were sagas of self-praise that I have gotten so much done yesterday. I haven’t been quite as hard working today as I was yesterday, but I did get the pile of paper on the table pared down to the small amount on my desktop right now and when I went for the first walk this morning, I took the stuff to be mailed down to the post office as part of my walk. It was cold enough this morning at 23 degrees {“feels like 17”} to wear the new flannel-lined size 14 jeans and they kept my legs warmed very well. It is also now officially my winter since I dug out and wore my bright-orange-with-reflective-stripes I-am-a-pedestrian-walking-in-the-road vest that I bought last year. When I go out this afternoon, I will be wearing my bright-yellow Land’s End winter jacket, my bright-yellow-with-green-pompom jellybag hat, the before mentioned flannel-lined jeans and orange vest and, of course, the usual things I take on my walks. I have a checklist fastened to the monitor. It says:

glasses {to remind me to take my seeing-at-a-distance glasses and not my sitting-in-front-of-the-computer glasses}
IPod
pedometer
telephone {so I am not lying up there on the football field with a broken hip unable to call for help}
lip salve to ward off cold sores which always appear for me with the first cold winds unless I protect my lips.

Well, time for me to head out for the second walk. Hope every who needs to is keeping warm.

wish I could muster up the motivation that you have to walk…. (I used to walk everyday and more than once a day sometimes, when I had a walking partner…. 🙂

Just about everytime I start out the office door one of our receptionists asks if I have the right glasses. If I had a dime for everytime I walked out wearing my “Sittin’ at the puter glasses”, I could be on my way to Hawaii for the winter. 🙂 – – – –

With everything you take on a walk, you need a reminder list. All of those keep warm items are good. Flannel lined jeans are an especially good idea. Good for you, cleaning off your desk. I can’t believe it,but mine is messy again!The paper keeps pouring in.

Usually I write and save as I go along in private and then make public, since I’m real good at clicking the wrong button! 🙂
