The man talks a lot of good sense! {Yes. I am a fan}
The tip for today is really a question. What are you doing with your life? I have often said that you’re burning daylight if you’re just sitting in a comfort zone and not moving forward.
The next year is going to go by whether you work constructively on your life or whether you don’t. Write down today’s date, because this time next year your life is going to be better or worse than it is today.
It will not be the same. You’re gonna weigh more or less. You’re gonna be happier or sadder. Your marriage is gonna be better or not.
Your relationships with your kids, your spouses are all going to be different a year from now. And the answer to which it will be will be a function of the choices you make between now and then.
Don’t be a passenger bobbing along in the river of life. Grab a paddle and start rowing in the direction you want to go.
I love Dr. Phil. I tape his show in the mornings. lol Good stuff. *random*

Very good wisdom here. I’m trying to paddle, I just have no idea where I’m going. Hmmmm…

never watch his show, but this is good advice. I need to make some serious changes in my life and I can’t keep waiting.

very good advice. I’ve looked through my diary over the last 5 years on here and noticed big changes. Some good, some bad, but most of all, I’ve become a better, more stable person. And I have more friends 🙂

Funny thing about a year ago/ahead. I remember a year ago today (day before Thanksgiving). I heard on the radio that a neighboring town was having a blood drive at high school and they did last year. I was off work that day and went to give blood – at the highschool, long waits, I remember conversations, people, etc. very disorganized – then went to the city and bought a camera for my computer.

Me, I just want to get through each day without going nuts. I know that’s not much of a goal, but it’s a start.

YES!! I have found Dr. Phil to be a guilty pleasure! And right now, that whole entry fits my life. I’d heard once someone tell a reason why they decided at – I don’t know 45 or something – to go back to school and get a degree. When asked why, they responded, “because in another 4 years, I can be 49 and still doing this (nothing great in life) or I can be 49 with a degree.” I have held to that –>

… motto and am now putting my life into drive. I’ve been idling in neutral for far too long. And also, YOU lady, make me feel like a sloth with your over 10,000 steps! LOL! I have a hard time getting past 8,000. More motivation needed.. More time, more energy, etc. etc…! ~ Carrie

What a great entry! Thanks! I’m reading “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tohl (I think I spelled that right), which is along those lines too. May we both work constructively on our lives in the coming year! And here’s wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving…. Weesprite

Darn, Patrisha, wish I had time to click on that reference to Dr. Phil. I love his show, and I love this entry. Will try to get back to read that later today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, Happy Thanksgiving your way! Love, Anna

Thanks for this. The man’s words are wise. Luckily, I don’t think I could ever really just be a passenger… at least, not a silent one.. Have a great day today!!!!! Love ya! ~M

I like Dr. P too. I especially try to watch the parenting shows because I A) learn a few tips and B) feel a whole lot better about my parenting when I see how others do it!
