Tuesday Morning

I woke up this morning late–almost 9 am and I was in bed by 10 pm and asleep by 11 pm last night. Anyway, when I got up, I felt very blah for a while so I read email and OD and played my ongoing game of Bookworm Deluxe. Then, I am thrilled to say, coffee kicked in and I got going.

So far I have done the dishes and bagged up and taken downstairs two bags of recyclables and two of non-recyclables. I gathered up all the old newspapers and bagged them and I will take them downstairs when I leave again. I have also been for a 45 minute walk. As soon as I have finished my glass of water {16 oz} I am off to Walmart for some retail therapy. I need to get at least one pair of heavy socks although the need is not so urgent as it was before I found the four pairs from last year! I need those little pads one puts on the backs of clip-on earings since the few I do have are pinching me very painfully. There is one other thing I need from Walmarts which I can’t remember right now but I know I have it listed on the Palm Pilot so I am not worrying about it. {smirk}

Going back to the earings… I may have mentioned that I have bid on a few pairs on Ebay? {Stop laughing–I can’t help myself! I am addicted!} Anyway, in all seriousness, I am endeavoring not to drop back into the I-am-only-hanging-about-the-house-so-I-can-wear-sweats mindset I used to have and earrings help. And since I no longer dress up to go out to work, I need something to ensure I make the effort. I put out my clothes for the next day before I go to bed because Fred sleeps late and I don’t want to disturb him rummaging around in the morning, and I have taken to putting out a different pair of earrings every night, too. Today I am wearing a heather-brown sweater I bought from Marks and Spencers when I was in England this year and some brown-ish green-ish pants bought at at the same place but the year before and the earrings are brown and gold dangling beads. Earrings really help me to make an effort with what I am wearing. Somehow they don’t seem to go with sweats! LOL

Well, the water has gone so it is time for me to head out.

Until later…

I need to follow that plan when I am home every day, otherwise I could get into some very bad habits.

What is your highest score in Bookworm Deluxe so far, Patricia? I remember you said that Fred got up to a million!

Ah, now I know why I see all those retired women who wear lovely earrings! That’s a lot of trudging up and down those stairs, carrying garbage bags.

I love Bookworm Deluxe! I think you are right. Earrings don’t quite go with sweats.

Good for you “making the effort.” This time of year it’s just SOOOO easy to stay inside and hibernate in those comfy warm sweats.

You and Fred always seem so considerate of one another. You were lucky to find one another! Claire

I don’t feel dressed without my earings in. Strange thing is i nearly always wear the same pair day in and days out. It is not lazyness as each night i take them out before sleep, but to me they are a sign of who i am. I have just bought matching earings and necklace to take away on hoilday with me, so i will change both that week Best Wishes

I am boring when it comes to earrings… I tend to put my pearls in and just leave them….they go with everything, don’t “clank” on the phone when I answer ir, and I never have to think about them…….but on the other hand, what you’ve said sounds like fun…..so maybe I need to get “with the program”. Love ya! ~M

I love playing bookworm, I haven’t played that one for a while. 🙂

lol earrings help you make the effort. Maybe i need to buy earrings and I too am addicted to Ebay, but this second go round I am controlling myself better than the first time I got hooked. Moderation is the key, but you truly can get some great buys.

if i didn’t have to get dressed to take blake to school, i’d probably stay in sweats all the time. take care,

ryn~Actually, I’m better than ever! Thank for asking.

I attended my first face to face meeting last night – I’ve attended several online meetings and have subscribed to a group on Yahoo. I have a sponsor online. I’ve only just started working the steps. Would you feel comfortable sharing where you are at in your program? I’m not looking for another sponsor or anything like that, just looking for someone who knows what I’m going through. 🙂

Boy have you been busy since the computer was in the shop. Gingerbread sounds heavenly! Bunions sound painful dead batteries are a pain, and I remember seeing a movie on Anne Bolene and boy did I screech when her head was rolling into the basket, (I was quite young) anyway *huggs* : )

ryn-Fred and I have something else in common (besides being Bookworm addicts and cooking oatmeal). I have a stack of quotation books. A small stack.

Looking down at my light gray KSU sweatpants, and my medium gray sweat shirt and feeling the earrings I wore to chuch sway from my ears. Yep the ears are a little over dressed.
