Today {I Know This is Not an Eyecatching Title}

About an hour or so ago, footsteps came pounding up our stairs and in came Justin, my partner’s 13 year old grandson and his father! What a lovely surprise! They couldn’t call first because “the line was busy.” Hmmm, guilty blush on my part.

This morning I got up around my usual time {5 am -ish} and checked email, diaries etc. About an hour later, I felt an overwhelming urge to go back to bed and so I did and slept until almost 9:30. This is VERY unusual for me. I usually try not to sleep late because, for some strange reason, it exacerbates the pain in my back {herniated disk stuff} But this time it didn’t. I guess I needed the sleep.

When I was teaching, I regularly got up at 4:30 am. I am a morning person, and a person who needs time to herself. I got my kid up at 6:15 and I had to have some time to myself before dealing with breakfast, getting him dressed when he was little and all the rushing around that is involved in getting two people out of the house and to school by 7:30 am.

Then, I would teach all day, rush home to eat briefly and leave my kid with the very competent young lady who worked as a babysitter at my house four nights a week and rush back out to begin work at Waldenbooks from 4:30 until 10:00 PM four nights a week. Then, back home, say Hi to Tanya’s father who was there to pick her up on these nights, and to bed. On the nights I didn’t work at Waldenbooks, I was in bed as soon as I could. One of my friends wondered why I was so strict about my kid being in bed by 8 PM. It was because *I* was in bed by nine!

My colonoscopy has been rescheduled. Originally it was scheduled to be on the day after I got back from England. I think not! Now it is a week later. Unfortunately, the only time I could get was 8 am. This is not a Good Time. Because I will have to be sedated, I have to ask my partner to drive me there and back. He usually gets up about 9:30 because he goes to bed after 1 am most night. He says he doesn’t mind, but *I* feel guilty {insert deep sigh here}
