Green Card Blues {part 3}

Well, I eventually got to talk to someone but found I was calling the wrong office. However, the person I spoke to gave me the number I should be calling. I told her I had called this number interminably and it was ALWAYS busy. She laughed and said she was not surprised; apparently it is the only INS site for the whole of the East Coast area! No wonder I couldn’t get through.

So, we decided that I would get my new pictures made tomorrow and my partner and I would drive up there on Monday. I need to make sure I have EVERYTHING… passport, old green card, driver’s licence for identification,form already filled out including my SS number which I can never remember and money. Can you believe that I am going to be charged $110 for this? The original card was issued in 1962 and I don’t remember how much it cost. But I think it is correct to say it was a lot less that $110!

I am writing this on the library computer since I walked around here to pick up three new books just in time for the weekend…
