Cancer Thoughts
I have had cancer twice {so far}
In October 1998, I had ny left kidney removed because of renal cancer discovered when I was in hospital for a herniated disk, and in April of 2000, I was diagnosed with and treated for endometrial cancer which is what we used to call uterine cancer.
Today I am writing about how once you have had cancer, and especially if TWICE you have had cancer, every little pain is diagnosed by the patient as cancer. In the past few days I have had a backache. It is probably the herniated disk acting up again but of course, I immediately started to diagnose myself with cancer!Actually, I should be reminding myself that I am not good at diagnosing myself. When I had the herniated disk, I promptly diagnosed myself as having kidney stones!
The best thing I have done for myself lately is when I went to see the Shrink Who Answers His Own Phone. Terry Rabinowitz is his name and because he and I think a lot alike, what he suggested has really worked for me when I get into these panic modes. Of course, the Ativan at this time is helpful, too!
Ativan is helping me get through my divorce. I have three dogs. I think if I ever get another dog, I will name him Ativan.

Cancer. So many of my loved ones have suffered from that disease. You are a survivor. I loved what you wrote in your “I Like” entry about your scars. Hugs,
