by the end of this entry I was laughing my nut off. I wish I lived next door to you it would be so much fun. It really would. Your daughter is filled with such loveable drama and has your attention while doing it. smack her and tell her to go to her room for giving you such terrible heart hangs. chuckles. I will never forget my aunty Joy who died very young, telling a story about her daughterwho was sitting across the table. Then aunty Joy looks up and says Lynn stop kicking me under the table. I laughed and laughed and still laugh when i think about it. xx
Those dummies are awful! Mark and Areasha had the same problem. She wanted to keep the sex of the baby quiet so that it would be a surprise for her other children, but Mark told the woman that works in the charity shop, then one of his friends, and it sort of leaked out and she didn’t speak to Mark for some time after that! Very hard to keep a secret like that!
Yikes!!!! I’m thinking my MIL needs those baby dummies. They would be right at home in her nightmare inducing house. They must be trying to discourage motherhood! I can not imagine how hard it would be to know what the baby will be… and manage to not tell anyone. I think Nikki needs to just give up and let the secret out!

RYN: Yeah that makes sense. I guess I feel that we are the sum of our experiences but our responses to those experiences are 50% nature and 50% nurture, at least for the most part. I’ve been doing a lot of pondering abut this due to recent events and will be doing some literary spewing about it soon lol.xx
Eek!! Zombie babies!! This reminds me of various jobs I’ve had here it hasn’t been ok to be ‘out’ at work. Trying to say what ‘we’ did in the weeknd without ever saying ‘she’ about my partner. It’s harder than you think.
Laughing so much at your attempts to keep babys sex a secret. its really difficult when you know and can’t say. I saw at my daughters scan that she was having a boy, but she and her husband didn’t want to know, Oh god that was hard!!!!!!!!!!
Whoa! Those baby mannequins could be featured in a horror film

oops – Sean gave away both names on numerous occasions but no one ever seems to have noticed. It got funny in the end with Layla. I just new he couldn’t keep it a secret. So it’s definitely a girl then? Very cute and then very scary indeed.I wonder what they’ve been on.
Poor, poor Granny! It is so natural though to want to talk openly about one’s grandchild – and so hard NOT to disclose the sex. Och weel….. ye cannie dae better than yer daein’ hen x Lots of good wishes, A ps: those are really scary baby dummies!
I don’t know why people having a baby want to be so secretive. My son and dil didn’t want to tell the names they had picked out. I begged and hounded and whined by email, all the way from the US to the UK. They finally sent me a spreadsheet with their 10 choices and had them in every configuration I have ever seen. He finally said they were favoring Emily Rose but wouldn’t know till she was born. I had no one to let it slip since they were so far away. The 10 name configuration thing was like Emily Rose or Rose Emily and then Grace Rose, Rose Grace, Emily Grace, Grace Emily and so on with 10 names. It was crazy b/c some of the names were first names only. But I was so sure it was going to be Emily Rose that I bought a Christmas ornament with Emily on it and sure enough she was Emily Rose. I know you will be glad when the secret is over!
Times have changed! I wanted everyone to know whatwe were having cause I sure didn’t want to truck back all boy stuff afterwards!

So you don’t want to give the baby’s gender away, but you will be glad when SHE’s here. Was that on purpose?

Would it help if you occasionally let the pronoun “he” slip out so you could even things up. Or just say he/she each time.
