What a shame about Joel and his family — you’re right, it’s their loss for sure. It’s amazing that sonogram pictures are so clear and detailed! I’m laughing about the feet. Baby Lilly’s feet look like they belong to a three-year old, and she’s six weeks. Hers are definitely genetic. I love the castle all lit up. I was a little astonished at that HUGE woman on top. Until I realized. OH!Perspective!! RYN- the storage units I meant are actually ones in a storage facility- not the type you buy yourself and put on your own land. Although that would be REALLY handy. You may not have them there like we do here- they’re called mini-warehouses, and you can rent one by the month. I think they come in a variety of sizes. They are EVERYWHERE here. Since Americans of course have to have waaaaay too much stuff. We rented one years ago, when we moved to another city and had trouble finding somewhere to live, so ended up renting a room in someone’s house until we found our own apartment, and needed somewhere to store our furniture and stuff for a couple of months.
It’s a great temporary solution. I think we paid $50 a month all those years ago- looks like around here they’re double that for a room-size one now. So it is pretty expensive. Guess I won’t be moving all my junk into one! It is really really good that you both know so much about OCD and how to deal with it. I hope the drastically reduced space will help her see she can let go of a lot ofthe stuff. Even without OCD I find the more space I have, the more I fill it up with junk. In fact I’ve dedicated tomorrow as Haul A Bunch Of Crap Away to Salvation Army Day. Our entire downstairs area is just piled with stuff we have accumulated and don’t know what to do with. Just like hoarders.
i know it happens, but i think it’s disgusting that Joel wants nothing to do with that sweet little lass of his after she’s born. i don’t get it! hoarding. who knew? would she really miss candy wrappers and dead flowers? could they maybe have been from Joel? anyway, looks like you WILL be sleeping in the shed after all. gotta make room for the junk. i’ll be back tomorrow. falling (yawn) asleep.
I didn’t realise that Nikki had OCD as well. When Mark went to the psychologist not so long ago she was adamant that Mark’s OCD was caused by something traumatic that had happened in his childhood. Nothing traumatic happened and he told her that he had inherited it from his dad, but she wouldn’t accept that!
I agree with a smaller space counter acting hoarding purely out of necessity. The 2nd photo is clever! The statue looks like it’s on top of the building & gigantic. A nose picker with large feet? A boy, then? 😉
ryn: If they both grow to have four inch trunks they’ll bend up subsuming one another. I have seen tree trunks and broken trees with two “hearts” and joined wood in the center. Now I’m wondering where the genetic material comes from for the flowers. Is each ovary and sperm purely made by one parent or the other or does that merge, too?
Hope she is going to get child support from the father, even if he is not interested in the child he is still obligated to support her. My ex was a good provider for his kids but failed miserably as a father, oh well.
Great ultrasound images. Mine all just looked like a bunch of scratches. The technicians would show me them and make comments and I’d be thinking – what are they talking about?

The purple didn’t do much for autism, but it sure does look nice. Grape castle.
Snort. snort. You’re cracking me up again. Wonderful having you back. Did you send Joel and his mother these pictures? I’m eager to have a relationship with the little thumb sucker (or even nose picker), how could they resist? Very touching photos. // For my hoarding abilities, check out my latest entry! Posting a photo gave me great incentive to clean junk out, so I sent a carload back tothe city! Ha! Always great having word from you.
Yes, hoarding. We have a family member who has heaps of space. Also thought he had heaps of money, so he kept spending it. Has about 300 car wrecks! Great photos, internal and external. 🙂

Perspective is everything, eh? =) Glad to see you writing!
Hope you do get some breaks in the rain. It just makes doing things that much easier. Now they are saying here it is going to rain all weekend. The baby looks marvelous. And how could Prince Charlie resist the colored lights?
Great ultrasound scans. So detailed. I wonder what she means by ‘standing by her son’? What a way to act to your own grandchild. We loved Inverness. My daughter ran the backpackers up the hill from the castle and we visited often during our Scottish holiday in 2008. A lovely town and we both felt at home there.
Mum will become a Great Grandma in July, my Sisters oldest in the father, they have shown Mum some scans on their macBook, now Mum thinks the child has arrived, when I tried to put her right I was told ‘she’s seen the photogaphs!’
RYN: Yes that’s the one. At the top of the hill on Culduthel. She loved working there and we stayed there quite a few times. It was an experience. My son was working there at the same time, so it was a good family get-together. Good memories.

I’ve read this entry three times now and still not noted! Those scan pictures are very impressive. Lovely to have such clear images. Very cute feet. Well, I guess it will be Joel’s mum’s loss but at least Nikki won’t have to worry about what her mother-in-law is thinking or wanting or not wanting. I didn’t know that Nikki had OCD too. Great that you are both knowledgable about it and I confess I had to laugh as I read this for the second time literally minutes after Sean had just asked me if we really needed to keep these dead flowers….:-) It was some dead flowers in a jam jar that we have had in the kitchen for three years now. They were given to me when Cameron was born and I wanted to use them in a scrap book that has never happened. I didn’t manage to throw them all away so I kept the gypsyphillia and binned the rest. Sad woman.
gosh…. who knew that hoarding is such a ‘popular’ issue… my Mum apparently is out of control and it scares me how much she is hiding it. Those scan pictures – sooooo darling. Did you not find out if its a little boy or girl…? Oh Lawd, are you making us wait…? gaaaaaah!
