Date Night
I had intentions on visiting Ana this weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans. My day off was Friday, and I was planning on leaving here at 10 and making it to her house around 12. Unfortunately, a tornado warning was in effect. The weather center had received reports of tornado touchdown in this particular weather system. I sent Ana a text saying I wouldn’t be able to make it, and we would make it up later this weekend.
I spent all of Friday relaxing at home and enjoying not going out. I made my dad’s chili, but I overheard my mom talking about an upcoming date this weekend. My dad passed away in ’08, and she swore she would never go out with another man ever since. My sister has encouraged her to go out more, but my mom just likes to stay in the house all day.
So, she asked if she could use the truck all day Sunday for her date, and I told her that she could. I overheard that her date was a guy from church, and they were going to have lunch together. She was also talking about possible places they could go for dinner. She did say that he was not her boyfriend ‘yet’, but she was excited about going on her date. She ended up asking me for money for her date.
It’s Monday night, and I haven’t heard anything about how the date went heh. Either way, I am very interested in hearing how it went :-).
We’ve also been trying to find another place to live lately. We have lived here for nearly three years. She is ready for a change of scenery. Our landlord is AWESOME!. He will do anything to make sure we are happy here, and he takes it upon himself to fix anything that needs to be fixed. He never bugs us about rent and even offered to lower the rent if we ever needed it.
I really have zero complaints about the place. It would be nice to have a bigger yard, but I’m not really the kind that would like to cut grass anyway lol. I was tempted to go back to living in an apartment, but I realized that I’m not good with communicating with my mom on such things. That is one trait I inherited from my dad; he would rarely talk to her–or us–about anything.
I went over to my old apartment complex and put in an application for the place without talking it over with my mom first. I’ve already decided I will not go through with it because I’m not financially secure with the store closing and everything. I would like to live on my own again, but I just need to make sure I have enough saved up first.
Well, I’m going to get out of here and head on to bed.
RYN: I thought about that I will have to see what Thirty-One is scheduling for us first If we arent completely running from one thing to another We will have to plan something. 🙂
