Christmas

Aleve is my new best friend.

I tried waiting around for my sister to show up, but I said screw it and went to Rite Aid. I took two Aleve and suddenly felt 100x better. Earlier that day, my mom wanted me to ride with her to Wal-Mart, so she could get her nails done. I couldn’t even begin to describe the pain while I was sitting in the truck. Tears were rolling down my face, and I tearfully told my mom I just had to go home. I called my sister to see if she could pick mom up for me.

My sister and mom got home around 5:30. At that time, I started to take a quick nap. My sister came in my room and asked if I still wanted to go out. I told her I still wanted to go out and eat at O’Charley’s. I had not eaten all day save for three slices of bread. I ordered the 7 oz. sirloin with baked potato and salad. I ate everything up, and I felt no pain at all. My mom gave me a birthday card and a check.

After we ate, my sister dropped us off and went home. I told my mom I was going over to my sister’s to help play Santa. I actually preferred to spend the night, but my mom wanted to stay home. I didn’t really do anything over my sister’s house except spectate. My two nieces stayed up all night, and I was feeling extremely sleepy. I told my sister I was heading home and would be back for Christmas morning.

All in all, my birthday was great. A ton of my friends sent me texts and facebook messages for my birthday. Even Andrea sent me a Happy Birthday text.

Christmas was even better.

I went to bed around 12:30 and woke up at 10:40. My mom and I headed over to my aunt’s house first, then we dropped by my dad’s tombstone to wish him a Merry Christmas. My nieces had already opened up a few of their gifts before we arrived. My mom opened up her presents, and I opened up my presents. I only had two presents this year, but they were exactly what I wanted: a grooming kit and new shoes.

My nieces opened up their new Wii and the New Super Mario Brothers, so I helped them hook up the system. My cousin and his parents showed up for Christmas dinner as well. We all had a great time on Christmas Day. We kept hearing about possible snow throughout the day, but it didn’t start snowing until 8ish. All of us started to leave for home around that time.

As for my wisdom tooth, aleve has helped tremendously in dealing with the pain. I already called one of the oral surgeons in my county. For one tooth, they want $875 which includes the anesthesia. The earliest they could do an extraction would be next Thursday. My dad had a personal dentist, but they were closed for today. I’ll call them tomorrow to see how much it would cost to do an extraction.
