Frustrations and Memories

Grr…my OD renewal still hasn’t kicked in yet argh…I sent the thing last Tuesday. Oh well.

The weather here is interesting. It was pleasant over the weekends until yesterday. Yesterday, it started to rain and the weather was a little chilly. Today, it’s supposed to be in the 70’s.

I just came from my Journalism class. My friend Stephanie told me yesterday we were supposed to have a test on Thursday, but the professor said that the test will be pushed back a week ^_^.

In a minute, I’m going to work on my French Composition which is due tomorrow.

I slept really good last night. In fact, I kind of woke up earlier than I thought–around 6:51–but I slept for about another hour. Oh yeah, traffic on 75/85 south and north bound were locked for awhile. I saw a truck that looked like it struck the median.

Anyway, I’m going to go and work on my composition. Have a good day.

Oh yeah one more thing…I was looking through my old entries when I found this entry written on the 20th of March 2002:

One of my good friends, Cally Carter, passed away last night. I didn’t know about it because I wasn’t on at all yesterday. Lizzie e-mailed me the news that Cally passed away. She also told me that Christipher (music~n~christipher) had written an entry in her memory.

Cally was diagnosed with detrimonial cancer (I think that’s the one) a few weeks ago. She was given 6-7 months to live but the doctors told her that she could undergo chemo because they thought they had found the cancer early enough for treatment. The last I talked to Cally was…Wednesday. Actually, I didn’t even talk to her because most of the time she was talking to her b/f Cody (who is Lizzie’s adopted brother).

She was just 18 years old…she enjoys helping out with people and being a good friend. I knew she was a fighter and tried her best to fight through this but cancer prevailed. This is something that is said far too much but I didn’t get the chance to say anything like bye or the like. We weren’t like, close or anything but I had a lot of fun talking to her and getting to know her with each passing day. There were times that she would get so involved with helping out, you couldn’t tell she had cancer. I had known her only about a few months but I hope that Chris, Kelly, Lyndsey (her siblings), and all of her friends will be able to get through this tragic time. It’s crazy to think that when death has no prejudice towards race, youth, sex, who you are or whatever. She was just 18! Death doesn’t care who you are, what you are, what’d you’ve done or whatever…However, I believe that we should all say our “goodbyes” or “I love yous” each time someone we care about sign off the net or leave to go another place. I think that we would look crazy for doing so but why not start saying your “I Love yous” whenever you get the chance? We never know when it’s our time next. Don’t take anyone for granted…remember to say “I love you”.

Yeah, last March was an interesting month for me. A lot went on that started fights with Liz and deaths of twin sisters.

On a more positive note, here’s a themed entry written about a week later:

The most beautiful thing I’ve seen huh? I believe the most beautiful thing I have seen is when our band went to the Niagara Falls during the Canada trip. Picture this: you’re with a busload full of people and you’ve been riding ever since the night before. It’s night time and you just passed Buffalo, NY and you’re about to leave the United States into Canada. You see a long bridge you have to cross; to your left, you see the most beautiful site of them all-Niagara Falls. It’s not just the falls that were spectacular, but the rainbow colors that iluminated. In short, we had just seen “The Illumination of the Falls”.

In actuality, Niagara Falls is really two falls: Canadian Horseshoe and the American Falls. If I remember correctly, there was a contest held to see if there was a person who could construct a kite to fly from the American side to the Canadian side. Also of interest, Niagara Falls has eroded about 7 miles from it’s original point.

Anywho, the falls are massive but majestic during the Illumination. I took some pictures but instead of beauty, I get black >_<. Grr eight pics lost. In the famous quote by Homer Simpson, "Doh!".

The very next day, our band got to journey “Behind the Falls”. I have pics of those:

Here’s the other:

good way to look at things… that not everything that happens is negative. this entry was awesome… i’m sorry to hear about the loss of a friend. i’ve had 3 go so far and it’s been no easier each time they go. it just makes life difficult for those who died doing something they shouldn’t and for those who died doing nothing at all. take care and have a good day!

I love your snippets..i read this earlier when I was trying to calm myself down and i thought so then but thought i would say so now (snippets is what I call your copy paste sessions of bits and pieces..of good stuff =) RYN: lupus is hard to explain..its an autoimmune disease its where my immune system doesnt work like everyonelse’s for a better explanation lupus.org has great info

RYN CONT.: when looking on that site you want the info on Systemic (there are 3 kinds..discoid..which is only the skin involvement drug induced which goes away when the med causing the reaction is stopped and systemic which effects the major organs as well as..well from head to toe, inside and out) if you have any questions please feel free to ask away, ok? *hug*

I also want you to know how much I appreciate you asking about it most people walk on eggshells around the subject and the fact is in my life there is no avoiding lupus..i wish i could but i cant so *hug* thanks for not being afraid to ask about it =) you dont know how rare that is

RYN: Thanks for your feedback on my diary description. I’ll think about the palm tree thing. ^_^; I felt pretty bad after I spoke with you earlier today(AOL kicked me off, btw.). ;_; I’ll try to note more often, okay? The thing with me is, when I note I want it to be significant, if that makes sense. I’ll do my best.
