Laziness

Monday wasn’t a bad day at all. I went to bed close to 1 and woke up around 7. After that, I remember leaving very early to go to my lab in Human Communications. Then, I came back home and got a lot accomplished. I did one huge load of laundry, cleaned the toilet, shower, mopped the floor, and cleaned the sink; I also studied a little for my Global Issues midterm.

Looking back over my schedule, I have to say that I’m glad I did register when I did. I don’t regret the fact I chose Dr. Braden’s 9 a.m. class over a class that started at 12. I wouldn’t have gotten a lot done and since it’s a 50 minute class, imagine waking up at 11 knowing you had a 50 minute class to go to. I’m a morning person anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Anyway, I get a lot more done when I come home immediately after my lab. Usually, I can do my clothes, cook something so I can have many leftovers for the week, study, whatever. I also washed my bed spread. Go me!

After that, I went to the North Avenue train station around 2 to my Astronomy lab. However, the stupid train decided not to show up for a good while and I was late for my lab *sigh*. What’s cool is that next Monday, those who have not missed a lab doesn’t have to come at all! Ha we reek of awesomeness :-). However, those who did miss a lab has to make up one next Monday. All we did was construct quadrants because we have a two-week observation assignment where we must pick an observation site and time and follow the phases of the moon. Unfortunately for me, I have to kind of fib about some information because I go home on weekends.

Also on Monday, I gathered up the courage to walk over to Georgia Tech and have a talk with Chris Moore who is the director of the marching band there. For those who don’t know, I wanted to try out for their marching band in the summer but I couldn’t because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to attend college period. Anyway, I walked over to the practice field and I saw some pit members. I asked who was the section leader and we talked for a good while. I spent time talking to him, meeting up with this Will guy and finally Chris Moore.

From what Jacob tells me, college band is more laid back and not as structured as high school. I stayed and listened to the pit play and I could play some of the stuff they were playing. Go me!

For those who watch baseball, Braves lost and I’m not getting into that.

Today was great!!!!!!

First of all, the fall weather slayed the evil summer weather and now reigns supreme for the next four months until Winter comes and defeats the noble fall weather. Hehe I love fall. It’s about time fall weather got here. Anyway, American Government went kinda slow but picked up pace towards the end. Then, I had my midterm in Global Issues.

I didn’t study for the midterm extensively. The professor wrote on the study guide that half of the questions would be from the lecture notes. The two books he gave us wasn’t covered a whole lot on the test. One in particular, Between Two Epochs, is a complex book and not easily understood sometimes. However, all the professor wants us to do, is be able to understand the general meaning of the reading assignments and such. Besides, I had answered 6 out of the 7 questions right so I was good to go. I got the midterm and blasted right through with the exception of a few questions here and there. What makes the test even better is the bonus points. There were 8 questions total (fill in the blank and list three blah blah blah) that were worth 4 points each! Theoretically, you coudn’t fail this midterm if you answered all 8 questions correctly.

One of the a, b, c, answer questions was: name three specialized agents of the United Nations.

One of the fill in the blank question was: a non-governmental organization is….

After that, I went to Underground Atlanta and played in an arcade for a while, then I went to eat my lunch. My Astronomy class was the last class of the day, and we got our quizzes back. Out of 11 points, I got 9 points! Hehe go me!

The only downside of the day was that I didn’t get the chance to go home b/c my mom and I missed one another. She was at the MARTA station from 2:30-3:30 and I was there from 3:33-5:00. Then, she came back around 5:30 and waited until I don’t know when. Ah well.

Here’s the point of the entry. I was on the elevator and we were going down every floor basically until it was packed (I live on the 9th floor). We get to the second floor and this girl is annoyed because there isn’t any room. She had the guts to tell us that was the THIRD FREAKIN ELEVATOR SHE WAITED ON!!!!!!! Gah some people are lazy.

Gah, I so am not a morning person! I would have registered for the 12 noon class, he he. As for lazy people in elevators, I know the feeling. When I went to Tuscany, my room was on the highest level of the hotel, and the elevators were really small. It was so annoying, because people who were only on the second floor actually got into the elevators! Why didn’t they use the freakin’ stairs!?
