The Cookout
For Father’s Day, my family and I went to my cousin’s house for a cookout. We got there around 2. We were responsible for bringing some peach dessert (my dad didn’t want to thoug), watermelon, and a couple of bags of ice. As soon as I got out, I took two bags of ice and my bag with ps2 games in it and took them to the house. After that, I went to Quest’s room and a few people were playing Grand Theft Auto 3 for the PS2. After a little bit, they allowed me to play capcom vs. snk 2 and tekken 3. I was the oldest person in the room but a couple of my cousins wanted to challenge me in tekken 3. I was on a big winning streak when I was hungry and I quit my game so I can have some food.
I had ribs, baked beans, and a cheeseburger with coke. My family were in the living room watching “The Patriot”–I have never seen that movie before–and I joined them to eat my food. After that, I went back into the room and my cousins were playing my game again. A little while later, I asked them if they wanted to play two handed touch football to which they agreed. Chris, my 13 year old cousin who thinks he’s all that, Nigel, a rough cousin of mine, and a few others joined us to play football. Nigel, myself and one of my cousin’s fiance were a team; Kim, who is chris’s sister, quest, some guy, and Chris were on a team. We started out trading scores but after a while, our team stormed ahead to 28-14 or something like that. We were ahead 35-28 and needed one more score to win. On our next possession, I threw up an interception and kim took the ball for a touchdown. Then, she got another interception to tie up the game. On our next possession, I believe we turned the bal over and as a result, we lost the game.
The rest of the cookout was fun. In the living room, April and some of the other members of the family were wathcing videos from her wedding earlier this month. Back in Quest’s room, some of my cousins were playing Grand Theft Auto 3 while Chris and I were observing. Kim came in andstarted scuffling with Chris (they fight all the time) over a toy knife. Hehe anyway, we left around 7 and came home close to 8.
