I was reading my friend’s diary entry when she discussed the notion that people love to eat fast food up to 7 days a week. Obviously, that is unhealthy; not to mention eating that many times can decrease the amount of money in your wallet. Take for instance if you order a McRib combo with medium fries and drink for about $3.59 plus tax. Let’s say that rounds up to about $3.66. Multiply that by 5 and you have spent $18.30 a week. Multiply that by 4 full weeks, and you just spent $73.20 a month! That money could go towards paying the bills, buying groceries, or in the bank.

I learned that lesson during my first year at GSU. While it’s great to have a fast food restaurant where you can eat on the go, the money spent could go towards something else. Another thing I’ve learned: it’s better to eat in smaller pieces. For example, I used to eat a double bacon cheeseburger with medium fries and drink. Now, I will eat a small bacon cheeseburger with small fries and drink. That would probably cost me close to $2 but that’s better than having it cost me close to $5. Not only that, but it’s healthier too!

Another thing. Drivers love to eat on the run. How convenient is it to eat a hamburger while driving?

One way to get around this, as well as to save money, is to pack a lunch. That sounds very elementaryish but it’s practical! It saves money because you’re not paying x amount of money for a combo meal. Plus, it’s healthier. Anyway, that’s my response to fairygirl’s entry. Oh yeah, I nominated for Reader’s Choice :-).
