Storming

I was sitting at the computer when I heard something that sounded like the Tornado siren, and then about 20 seconds later the weather radio goes off. I start rounding up the children and sending them down stairs. I look at the weather radar and realize I have about 10 minutes, so I start getting the dogs and the cats rounded up and down stairs.

Jonathan brought his computer down stairs and the kids were watching Diego on netflix. After the first cell passed us Jonathan and I went outside to move the cars into the garage. It wasn’t until we got them inside that either of us saw the hail on the ground, which was about 2 inch in diameter!

When we came back inside we realized that the power was out and the children were down stairs in the basement not able to see anything. Jonathan rounded up a flash light that didn’t work and a candle, and a movie so the kids could watch something without the internet seeing as Jonathan’s computer still had power.

We sat down stairs without power because we didn’t have anyway to tell if the storm had passed. I called my mil who told us that the storm was still on top of us, so we waited until the power came back and we could check the radar again.

I talked to my brother who said the funnel cloud went right over their house, which isn’t that far from us. We are so thankful they are okay too.

Anyway, I’m glad we are all safe and other than a few hail stones, there appears to be no damage. Now to get the house cleaned before tomorrow’s company.

Note to self… I need a weather radio when I get there, apparently! 🙂
