In a sunny place…

Cheers from sunny Palm Springs! We are enjoying our last few months child free and decided to come down and enjoy the sun.

Funny thing just happened…

We are staying at Todd’s house down here, and he got a new pool guy. Who was here yesterday. And now the old pool guy just showed up and is very confused… awkward….

In other news… I’m a bit hungover this morning, as is of most mornings when we are on vacation. Too many margaritas yesterday.

And since I’m rocking a hangover, the rest of this post will be old school bullet point style…and here we go:

  • The adoption process is still ongoing. We are flying through the certification process.
  • The two boys we wanted to adopt, got adopted. Good for them, but we are disappointed. I hope that whomever adopted them gives them a good home and they grow up to be successful and happy human beings.
  • Work is kind of static right now. Nothing good or really bad going on. It’s just kind of in this middle ground.
  • My mom is watching the dogs/house while we’re gone. Hopefully she doesn’t snoop too much.
  • Ski season is approaching, and I can’t wait. I need to loose about 10lbs and get my cardio up or the first few trips up to the mountain will be rough.
  • I haven’t really hung out with my little brother since the end of last season. He got a girlfriend now who is 9 years older than him. She’s a janitor at one of the local elementary schools. She’s nice enough, but has just a touch of white trashy going on.
  • Now I think it’s off to make a blood mary, and soak in the sun and enjoy these last few times when I won’t be responsible for little ones running around.

Good to hear from you!

I am so excited for you both. I know a couple who just recently celebrated their 20th anniversary of their commitment ceremony (how awesome is that!) and they adopted two boys. The older one has always been in class with my son (they are the same age- 14) and the other is younger. They are such a wonderful family and an important part of our community. Keep us posted. šŸ™‚
