Q. If you could pick a country other than your own to live in, where would it be?
Truthfully, I only have one other country I’ve been to besides the US of A. That’d be Canada.
My mom works for the government and got a job in Canada for two years while I was still a High School kiddie. But I’ve been there for more than just that. I’ve visited the Busker Carnival in Waterloo twice and have been to Toronto at various times for such lovely things as plays(Phantom of the Opera most prominently) and Medieval Times(good fun). Lastly, I’ve been to Quebec(City, I think), for the general sight seeing and tourist thing.
Considering the locale, I think I’d be most comfortable there. It’s like the US in most ways that are important with some general bonuses overall. They’re more liberal in the law sense and not quite as hardcore patriotic as some US yahoos tend to be. Canada’s a generally quiet(comparatively) country that no one really has a major beef with and who has few grudges to cause trouble.
Being the quiet kid in the corner of International politics is not a bad thing, compared to being the big kid who gets his nose stuck into almost every nook and cranny.
Overall, I’d have to say Canada is my alternate destination of choice. Comfortable, but with enough new things to remain interesting. A safe and cozy place to live, despite the snows. Then again, I’ve never been shy when it comes to taking on snow(I often walked to my HS for class when it was snowing and we never had a snow day. Ever).
I’ve heard it is beautiful there, hopefully someday I’ll get to see for myself.

*smiles* I love proper snow like you get in the northern states and Canada. here (in the uk) we get snow that quickly turns to drizzly rain and slush!
