Me – Poser Goals with and Extras

It’s come to me that dealing with Poser will be a chore and a half, especially if I want to get elaborate. Looking through most of the content, much of it is centered around the admirable work of DAZ productions. Their base figures Victoria and Michael are the base for at least half if not closer to three quarters of the custom content out there. Meaning that clothing is made for them and new character morphs are patterned off them.

That makes it pretty much a necessity to have them, At $40 a pop, to make use of this wide and impressive array of items. Suffice it to say, at $40 a pop, I ‘m not too eager to buy in. The work is impressive, don’t get me wrong, but that’s a lot of cash(relatively speaking). And I wouldn’t want to buy into anything that I won’t use. If I’m going to use it, sure, but other than that I’d want to be very careful.

Which makes me aware that I have to figure out what I want before I start buying. Before you get the base, you have to know what accessories you’ll want so you get the right base to begin with.

I’d hoped to start delving into my characters and crafting them, but it seems I’ll have to take things a bit slower for the time being. An unfortunate necessity, even though I’d love to start illustrating my imagination straight off.

My first animation and my two simple pics are a good start. But I need to learn the fine details of some of the features. Most notably the creation of dynamic hair. Once I can create a style, it is easy to save it for later use, so I need to try and master the intricacies of creation. In learning MUX code, I found that it was illuminating to open up what others have done to see what the results of certain things are. That might work for hair. There are several preset styles(like the style the red head had). Tonight I’ll poke at them and see if I can learn more.

Then comes figuring out scenes. How to create backgrounds and the like, which hasn’t been easy so far. But there are many tools that seem quite useful for this. The Multiplane Cyclorama looks like a good base item that I’d get lots of use out of for making backgrounds, But I’m nto going to get it soon. First I want to try this on my own, rather than using third party additions. I have to try and learn the basics before I get things like this.

It’s all quite confusing at the moment, but I’m slowly starting to absorb the massive amounts of information available. Perhaps someday I’ll have all the skills and means I need to really get into this. I’m not rushing myself, it will come in time. I’m just a little impatient inside, wanting to bring out the best of it all immediately.

For now, I want to ask my readers for some assistance. Considering my last bit of poser art, I’d like to make more ‘themed’ items like the Supplication images. What I need from you all are words that I can make into pictures. Just leave a note on the word that you’d like to challenge me with. I’ll see what I can do about making text into pictures. Thanks. 🙂

What can you come up with on the combination of words GoddessInMyOwnMind? That is an interesting concept to use words as pictures.
