Me – Diary Philosophy

As it stands, I find it rare that anyone really complains about the subject matter that I decide to write about. It’s a courtesy I extend to others, despite what I might think personally. That is what, I believe, Open Diary is about. That we should feel free to write without someone telling us what we decide to write about is stupid or boring. If it’s boring, you should have the good sense to read something else.

I’m open to constructive criticism of course. Ideas. Topics to write about. Often I take the ideas my readers give me and run with them. Or at least try to. Some notes, not meant to inspire me, do so. Which is one reason I encourage commentary, even discussion between noters if they are so inclined.

One thing I don’t like is being told off for what I write. Dissenting views are fine, but outright insult is, to say the least, uncalled for. I have yet to block anyone, but if someone makes enough of a pest out of themselves, I will. Without warning and without further follow up. But it usually takes quite a bit to get to that point.

I believe in openness. I believe in Open Diary. Lets all play nice now.

PS: It’s my birthday. The big two six. 😉

Happy birthday. I’ve noticed the notes have taken a nasty turn. I often read diaries and leave no note. My husband’s philosophy is if you can’t say something nice, keep it to yourself. I try to subscribe to that as much as possible. On the other hand, I hate to point fingers but Rush, Ann Sean and the like have made it acceptable to be rude if one believes they are right. <~~ pun intended

waaooww you’re old! Hahah, I’m just kidding. 🙂 I wanted to drop in and say that I like your diary, even though I don’t note, I really appreciate your news entries, and others. Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

I hope I haven’t been guitly of this. I have been online for over 20 years and am consistently surprised at how hard it is to communicate by mere letters. I am not a contentious person face-to-face. I am well-liked by almost everyone in person. But, online I have seen trouble after trouble. Hope you will let me know if I am offending somehow. I really like your style here.
