Me – Christmas Trip

In what is destined to become a yearly tradition, I’m off to visit my friend Luriena on Friday, they day after Christmas. The ticket is bought and I’ll be packing up to go soon. I fly out on the 26th at just before 6 PM my time and will be there after 11 PM her time. Ahh, to experience the wonders of being three hours behind myself again. Silly time zones. 😉

I’ve my three bags ready. One to check, two to carry with me. As before, considering I can no longer lock up my checked bag, I’ll be keeping my expensive/favored things with me, even if I don’t plan to use them. Like the laptop and most other electronics as well as the DVDs and CDs I plan to carry along.

I think I’m going to put a few books in with the clothes to leave with her, so she can check out some of the stuff I read. If she reads them or not is cool, free samples so to speak. 😉 I can pick them up next year either way. 🙂

I’ve already secured cash and travelers checks for the trip, thus one primary concern is fielded. I’m more worried, at the moment, about the security stuff. I plan to have my coat, which has many a pocket, outfitted with several things, such as my GBA SP and its bevy of games. Hopefully I won’t have to search through and empty every pocket. I’ll have to review security procedures to make sure that I can expedite the process as much as possible. Hopefully my off-peak travel time will result in minimal lines. I know the destination airport was pretty much deserted when I arrived last time.

I’ll be returning December 3rd, resting the Sunday after and then heading back to work on the 5th. Over a week of vacation fun for only five days of leave. Not too shabby.

Have a happy and safe trip. That’s quite a time zone trick coming back before you left! : )

Wear slip off shoes-they’ll make you remove them and put them thru the xray, ditto a jacket of any sort, so no worries about what’s IN the coat. Laptops have to be removed from their case and put into the gray boxes to go thru xray and then hand checked.Take it out while you’re in line, otherwise people will get nasty and grouchy with you while they wait for you to unzip your laptop case. I fly so much to see J I’ve got it down to a science. Barring idiots in front of me I can be thru security and putting my shoes back on in less than ten seconds (Not including standing in line, of course). I can even get the kids thru security lickety split 🙂 Hug my Heart-Sis for me when you arrive, wish I could get up there to visit, too 🙁 Soon, maybe. Have a wonderful time~Kind Thoughts~

Oh, and frighteningly enough the security to go to the Statue of Liberty was tighter than any airline security I’ve been through, and I fly out of JFK every time so you’d think….
