Log – Differing Similarities (2/2)
Roan shrugs lightly “well several things have become apparent. One is that we are both techno-wizards yet we both don’t choose to don the traditional garmnets of our ilk. If I am wrong and you aren’t one, then you and I have access to a good ammount of money, another similarity. Most importantly however are you recently surfaced views on citizenship, I feel the same.” He looks at you “though I wonder if you intend to try to change the issue or simply piss of some guards?” He shrugs “Either way is fine with me, I just might be willing to help in the former. In the latter… well… it would seem you can handle your self quite fine.” He smiles slightly behind his armor.
Contrary listens to Roan’s reasoning with a guarded expression. If those things match up, she doesn’t give a positive or negative reaction to it.. yet. In the wake of it all, her irritation has faded some. Her shrug returns as she responds. “Like what can I do? Go barging into some stuffed shirt’s office? I’m nobody, who’s going to care?” All said with a resigned, yet not whiney tone. Reluctant acceptance.
Roan tilts his head slightly and shrugs lightly. “Well I’m sure that would get some more attention thrown your way… However, I think a better course of action might be trying to organize a group that support our common views on citizenship. We come up with a solution in this group of ours, then go to council in full force and deliever it to them with all of our names on the proposed change and then if our proposal is turned down without enough solid reasoning, simply strike outside the council building until they change their mind. In short, turn the city upside down for a short period of time. With the advent of war I doubt council will risk splitting the city over an issue of citizenship and would rather quickly solve it painlessly without causing such a split.”
“Well, I don’t really know exactly what else to do. But pretty much anything would be about the same. It would be fine if they just paid the people who work for the city or made some other ‘good for the city’ activity.”, Contrary replies. “It’s a no brainer, I don’t know why they thought people would work for free for a year just to get a few extra privileges.” Her arms relax then and she rolls her shoulders in another shrug. “I don’t know if I have time to do some sort of.,. grassroots movement thing. I’ve got.. things to do here.” Not that she seemed deeply busy just a few minutes ago.
Roan nods “ahhh I see. Well perhaps our views aren’t quite as identical. I was thinking more along the lines of an applicant staying in Kignsdale for a year. After their time is up they present to council proof of their constructiveness in adding to Kingsdale. Such as the signed statement from a boss of a business, or something similar. Their police record would also be taken into consideration, etc.” He shrugs lightly “But it makes no difference now I suppose. Just thought I might see if you’d be interested in changing things. However, if you have other things to do, just write a letter. Those seem to do a lot of good.” He shrugs lightly. “In anycase, I’ll let you get back to your business.” He nods to you politely.
Contrary glances down slightly toward her bag, which is set against her hip. “That would be fine too. But.. there are just too many things to worry about citizenship too much, considering how little it actually gives.. I might not even be here in a year.” Her lips purse faintly and she looks up quickly after, as if she hadn’t meant to add that. “Uhh.. anyway.. bye.” Her expression firmed, she turns around to take a step in the opposite direction.
The armored figure simply shrugs lightly and nods, turning to head off in his own direction. The figure has yet to reveal his true features. Perhaps he is hiding something? Perhaps he is just intimidated by female humanoids that make guards tremble? Who knows.
