Log – Contrary’s Homecoming (4/5)

Darkshadow allows the door to close infront of him, locking it as he does so before pocketing the key and making his way up the street. His stride is fairly casual but seems rather purposeful and his gaze is locked onto Contrary. His ears perked straight up and his tail swaying behind him with every step he approaches the strangely familar being.

** Start Darkshadow Description **

Standing before you, at a somewhat bulky five feet, is a large, bipedal feline mutant. The species, is either some sort of black housecat, or lepoard/panther for those who dont know how to tell them appart (Though black Lepoard/Panther would be the correct guess). He’s currently dressed in a matte black military jumpsuit, that oddly enough has a rolled up hood on it (Held that way by a pop off clasp at the back). It has large cargo pockets on the legs, and one on each chest, with a large zipper going up the front. On each leg are a pair of heavily modified combat boots, made to fit the mutant’s legs, complete with a boot knife on each foot. Notably the handles are bonewhite and very ornate. To complete the ensemble is a set of matte black combat webbing, complete with a large assortment of pouches, and three pistol holsters, one on each leg, which holds a pair of MP-10s as well as spare clips, and a wilks backup with laser sight that’s in a chest level holster. There’s also a bandana of knives around the right arm, some of them appear to have silver blades, and the front straps of the webbing have loops for rifle grenades, ties for regular grenades and other such things. Though none currently adorn the webbing. The feline’s eyes are a vibrant slightly orrangy yellow, and noteably, just about everything the being wears, is, well black as his fur. The only thing that seems to stand out is a gold ring with a single gem on it placed on the beings right hand, though not on the correct digit for it to be a wedding ring of some sort. Also, clipped onto his webbing, are a pair of handles with gems in them, their the sort often found on Katanas and other such oriental swords though, oddly enough they have no blade.

** End Darkshadow Description **

Contrary holds a confused expression as she starts to move toward the south again, without looking directly where she’s going. Her gaze still cast to the side, eyeballing passing structures, she pulls up short only when she nears the approaching Darkshadow. She stops immediately and lurches to the side a little instinctively, as if to evade an obstacle in her path, reorienting her attention on him. The concerned confusion remaining a part of her expression.

Darkshadow how ever does not continue past, but simply stops infront of Contary, sniffing at the air slightly, though it’s hard to tell if he’s in a bad mood or just currious perhaps. He remains silient like this for a few awkward moments before finally speaking “Discord?” he asks, though, he hardly sounds certain of himself when asking that, tail frozen mid curl as he watches for a reaction to the name.

Contrary quickly uncomfortable, it showing in her manner as you stop near her. She catching on that you’re sniffing at her. She takes a little step back either way. The word you speak is responded to with a mute stare. A moment later she shakes her head a little. “Wh.. what?” Again, the shake seems to be a clearing motion, not necessarily a denial.. though it could be.

Darkshadow tilts his head slightly and sniffs again “Hm….my mistake perhaps. Did you once know some one who went by the name Discord? Your…..very…familar for some reason.” he states. His tone fairly soft now. He doesnt -seem- to intend harm though his manner is still rather abrupt none the less. And one certainly cant deny that he’s rather heavily armed all things considered.

“..no..” Her manner is hesitant as are her words. “I.. I don’t know you..”, Contrary says slowly. Despite that and despite that she takes another slight step back, she does continue to stare at you. A little abrupt in return, for unstated reasons. “What do you want?”, she asks, words more coherent.

Darkshadow snorts at that with the twitch of an ear “Just seemed to be a great deal like her, both in scent and look. Thought you were either her or related….” he seems about to say something else but goes quiet at that. “Sorry to bother you.” he seems about ready to turn and go at that point however. Yet he’s still stricken by the similarities

Contrary doesn’t step back again, once your attention isn’t so focused. “Oh..” Her response is light. a bit more thoughtful than her other utterances. “I’ve never.. I don’t think I’ve been here.. before.”, she confides carefully. “I don’t think so..” Added as she glances across the street a moment, attention lingering for a few moments on the buildings.

Darkshadow pauses once more looking at the being before him with abit more scrutiny this time “You dont seem so certain of yourself.” he states plainly. His tail sways behind him lazily once more, ears still perked up. For now he just waits for Contrary’s reply to his previous questions but now he certainly has more of them.

Contrary shrugs her shoulders, slowly crossing her arms low. “Who.. who is ever really certain about.. things.”, she says. “Uhh.. can I ask a question..? Do you know any places where.. Techno-Wizards tend to hang out here? I assumed some guy back there and all be wanted to talk about was some store of his.” Her tone gains an annoyed twinge as she talks about ‘the guy’, indicating back toward the gates with a shift of posture and incline of head.

Darkshadow hrrrrs quietly at that “That would probably be Roan you spoke to then. There are no real ‘hangouts’ that I am aware of anymore for technowizards. There is another notable one here in Kingsdale however. Goes by the name of Haplo Gregs. He’s out in the Dregs in the schoolhouse. But if you head that way, becareful. Alot of gangs, vampires and who knows what lurks about in those streets and alleyways.” a slight pause from the felanoid “Used to be the magical guild but that was either destroyed or….teleported durring the last battle her with the CS.”

Contrary listens quietly to your response, though she shifts slightly soon after you mention the school house and Dregs. Her brows knit, as if concentrating on something. A slight waver in her posture which she gets ahold of relatively quickly. “Morlocks..”, she murmurs quietly to herself, though the world just seems to confuse her all the more. “I.. I guess I’ll.. look later.. in the morning maybe..”, she says when you’ve finished.

Silence then from the feline “Yes, the Morlocks run that area.” another pause “If your looking for a place to stay the hotel got destroyed and far as I know one was never rebuilt, but there’s allways the octagon appartment complex. Or if you just need a place to crash the night I have a spare bed you can use.” Darkshadow says. An odd offering from him, and one only usually extended to mutants and others that at least -appear- to be such.

“Yeah.. the guy.. Roan? He told me about the apartments. I was headed there.. south, right?”, Contrary asks. “I have money.” Her tone a dash defensive on that matter. SOme of the uncertainty and confusion she had is smothered under a return of her firm expression.
