Pol – Is Bin Laden Dead or Alive?

This, one of the mysteries of the modern day. And it is of some importance when it comes to the motivations and justifications of several countries including the United States.

MarchingPeaceGranny pointed out an article, which brought up some intriguing and disturbing questions.

Among the lawyers assertions was that Bin Laden died of kidney failure. This being one of the most prominent parts of the argument(besides general allegations that the attack was allowed, when it could have been stopped), so I decided to look around and see if any truth might come of this.

First we have: Is bin Laden Dying?

In this, it is noted by intelligence sources that Bin Laden has a kidney ailment and that his associates have been seeking a dialysis machine to stabilize his condition. Not necessarily a good condition to have when on the run in low tech areas. But Bin Laden has money, presumably he could obtain what he needs to live, right?

Bin Laden’s kidney failure death was ‘speculation’

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf commented on the likelihood of Bin Laden’s death if he could not get such a machine, though he has clarified it as speculation. This Guardian article shows some of his personal reasoning.

Bin Laden’s brother denies his brother Osma having kidney Failure

He denies that Osama even has an ailment. Which would make all other speculation moot. Question is, is his word trustworthy. Most would likely say no.

This one has links broken on many of its evidence tidbits, but overall it seems that someone has done homework on this as well. Quite a few bits of circumstantial evidence.

Osama bin Laden is dying of kidney disease

Even Snopes is mystified, though they have a wealth of the circumstantial evidence on their site. If anyone can be trusted to reveal the truth, it would be snopes, so if anyone were to ever know and report for certain based on the facts, it will be them.

But for now, we don’t know. There is speculation that he’s dead, but there is no substance or reliable sources on the matter. Without those, it would be negligent to assume. I don’t know what the lawyer in the previous article thinks be has on Bin Laden’s death, but I doubt he has better than the intelligence agencies in several countries.

Dunno if he’s dead or alive, at first it was the most important thing to Bush, then after a few months he couldn’t care less. Will the same thing happen to Hassan, now that he’s managed to get his beloved war underway? Are you assuming that the intelligent agencys would be forthright if they knew. I know that the henchmen in any two gangs will be friendly and supportive of each other if it benifits them to get what they want from the patsy. Exciting times we live in. It is scary to me how many are so willing to hate even when they don’t know anything. Just read you could have a room of 500 people and no one would agree on anything. Escept who to hate.

The point was not weather OBL is dead or alive but how little we really “KNOW.” Yet we are positive that we should be in war. Why? By what you heard? So what have you heard that would make you so positive to be judge, jury and killer of mankind? I want those answers. Are we positive that OBD or Saddom did those things? Have we had a court of law where evidence was presented?

I would assume he is alive until I see proof that he is dead. I’ve heard numerous stories on his kidneys, but also heard that it’s just a rumor. If he is alive, we’ll probably never find him. The silliest thing i’ve ever heard is that he fled to Pakistan. He would never go there if he’s alive.

This is one of those occasions where I don’t expect we’ll ever know the whole story.

there is something oddly amusing in the fact that if he does have kidney problems killing him, there is a certain irony. maybe god’s bored of him going on and on about destroying things in his name.
