Monday…

Let me get the mushy stuff out of the way: I want to thank everyone for the supportive notes/emails. As always, I’m overwhelmed by the response. A lot of you have been around since the beginning of my journey! 4.5 years is a long time to deal with my tantrums and complaints. I thank you for the patience and friendship (LOL or is it just your desire to watch the trainwreck that is my life?).  I’m a bit scared to try something new, but I’m excited too. Weight Watchers basically saved my life…and I will forever be grateful. The program stresses the concept of lifestyle change…and that’s what I’ve done. In order to continue pursuing additional fitness events/goals, I had to do what’s best for me. Hopefully I made the right decision. The great part of of Weight Watchers is that the program will always be around. It’s comforting to know that I have something to fall back on if things get too out of control.

So…today completes my 4-day weekend. Our company has a use it/lose it policy on vacation, so I was forced to take an additional 5 days off this month. Rough life, huh? My seniority grants me 4 weeks of vacation…and I decided to be greedy and purchase an additional week of PTO. Anyway, I used my long weekend to do my 2nd favorite activity: shop. Our office (thanks to me…*polishing my halo*) adopted a family from a local elementary school. With 7 total members (Mom & Dad, 10 yo girl, 8 yo boy, 4 yo girl and 6 month old twin boys), we definitely have a lot of shopping to do. My office has 150 employees, so hopefully we’ll get a nice collection of items.

One thing I haven’t shopped for is my holiday party dress. I think I work better under stress. Last year I found my dress 8 hours before the event and it was perfect. I’m off (again) on Friday, so I’ll hit the stores early and get something fabulous for Saturday night.

Well, I need to get back to Operation: Apartment Transformation. Chesty and I are hosting Christmas again this year, so the place has to be decked out. Nothing National Lampoon-ish…just festive.

Hope everyone has a great week!

P.S. I’m creating playlists for my iPod (yes, I’m a nerd…it won’t even be ordered until this week) and I need good cardio songs. Please leave me a note with the songs that help move your ass in the gym. Thanks!

Safe in the Arms of Love by Martina McBride. I love that song and it has a good beat. I walk to it…when I walk. haha

I like salsa music for working out. (not that that happens very often :P)

RYN: Dad is doing awesome 🙂 He still gets whiny at night if he’s overdone it and is sore, but who can blame him after what they did to his back? Welcome to life after WW *LOL* 🙂 Hope it’s treating you well so far! 🙂 I’m seriously contemplating doing one of the box-lunch deals like nutra-systems or Jenny Craig. I’d feel like I was caving to pressure, but at the same time, I feel….

RYN: Thanks my dear 🙂 That Peppermint Mocha Espresso sounds awesome 🙂 Of course, I got the Venti. I don’t even want to THINK about the calorie contest. It was with Skim milk, but that’s a drop in the bucket where calories are concerned. You don’t wanna be here atm… it’s FREEZING!!! I think LW and I should come down to you where it’s warm for our hugs! 🙂

Oh yeah, I also have Dead or Alive’s Greatest Hits CD. Oh and one more thing, “Dope” and “I Thought It was Me” by Bell Biv Devoe….. Xquizite1

I know last night I was attempting to bust a move white girl style to some Outkast – Hey Ya – really makes me want to shake it. And of course a little Missy E always gets my groove going. Now – if only I really danced like I think I do in my head. Thank god I only do it in my living room – or else they’d make a SNL skit out of my antics.

If you like Whitney you can use a lot of the stuff from her greatest hits album. The dance disk. It’s not right, but it’s okay If I told you that w/ George Michael Step by Step Queen of the night I’m every woman I’m your baby tonight And I think there are a few more you could use. Could you post your list once you have compiled it. I thinking of an ipod of Christmas myself.

I am kinda partial to music that makes me feel like I could be a super hero in the next action movie, so….. Prodigy is always good for me : ) LOL. The songs, “spitfire”, “memphis bells” and “girls” are very nice for running. Have fun! -Andrea

Madonna’s new one “Confessions on the Dance Floor” is great for a one hour cardio fest.
