I needed a “Courtney” day to take care of some things, so I took tomorrow off from work. First order of business? A meeting with my advisor from Texas Wesleyan U. For some reason, I was nervous about the whole thing. He has been a great source of support to me…even during my years away from campus. I’m sure he thinks I’m coming to get everything in order to knock out the last year of my BS in Marketing. Umm…negative. I need to talk to him about switching gears and pursing Nutritional Science. Some people may think I’m foolish to change directions when I’m so close to a degree. Well…I did a lot of growing up in the 6 years I’ve been away from campus, and weight loss/fitness has changed my life. I truly believe that God allowed me to lose this weight for a reason. Beyond personal health/wellness…I think I’m meant to help others in this area. My career should be something I’m passionate about…anything else is merely a job. So…I’ll post an update tomorrow…along with my weekly weigh-in.

u know, i changed my major soo many times and i never thot i’d be back in school after graduating with my BS. (yes, i call it my bullshite degree hehehe) so whatever change u have decided on, its only going to bring you much more happiness! afterall, if this is ur calling, then go for it! 🙂 take care hun! *hugs*

C, I changed my major 3 times in undergrad and ALL of my advisors thought I was crazy. I still managed to graduate on time with two degrees and get into a wonderful grad program. Don’t worry about the advisors, it’s YOUR decision. Hey, pay for a degree you want and you will use! I support you 100%! I would buy your books and come to your office! Smooches…

I definately agree that you should go for a career, something you enjoy, and not just settle for a job. Don’t just get a degree just to have one, get one that will help you along your path in life. Nutritional Science sounds great! Much luck in everything!

C. go for it! Do what you like, it can only make you happy in the end. I’m reading a book right now “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” and it so happens I’m on the chapter where it talks about doing what you want without fearing what whomever might think including yourself.
