Back in the saddle…

Ride for the Roses weekend has truly helped me get back on track. My eating and exercising have been on point and I’ve lost 4.6 lbs since the event. I basically played around from August-early October and my progress suffered as a result. The ride not only made me want to get the rest of my weight off…it also helped me get out of the fast food pit! I am determined to stay on track through the holidays. The 200s are getting old and it’s time to leave them behind.

Thought for  the day:  Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything but you can’t help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I think I found a new road bike. I’m going to talk to the guy at my local bike shop and my friend Charles (ironman triathlete!) to see what they think of the product. I’m going to use my tax refund for the purchase, so I should be rolling on new wheels in March. 🙂

Opinions please:

My coworker Sarah (so not her real name) is in a bad relationship. She has been dating this guy (Dickhead) off and on for 9 years. They moved in together 6 months ago (even though he was unemployed!). Dickhead totally uses and abuses Sarah. She pays the entire mortgage, car notes, insurance, utilities, etc. He basically sits at home and scratches himself. As if this isn’t bad enough, HE broke up with her a few weeks ago. The lease isn’t up until May. She’s heartbroken, paying all the bills, AND having to live in the same house with Dickhead. What should she do? I suggested that she kick him out and get a REAL roommate. No broken lease and the convenience of splitting living expenses. Makes sense, right? She didn’t want to hear it…why do some women get so damn stupid over men?!? Ack!

Chesty and I have set a lofty goal of collecting $5,000 each for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. LOL You would not believe some of the fundraising ideas we plan to roll out. Details coming soon…

Hope everyone is having a not-so-sucky Monday…

She didn’t want him out of there because she wants him to get back together with her. I don’t know why women are like that over men. I think men suck.

Ha ha, slinky quote, good one. WTG onyour loss, girl! You are my hero! I get stupid over men, but thankfully I’m not living with one. I know it is tough for her to hear what other people say and think, yes she should kick him out, but ultimately, it is her decision.

I love slinkies! 🙂 Some women, you just can’t save, ’cause they don’t wanna be saved. It’s sad to watch, though.–

C, you are doing SO awesome! You’re nearly out of the 200’s! =D I’m so proud of you, and happy for you, and inspired by you. You kick ass, chica. =)

she should kick him out and get a new room mate

I agree with your thoughts on your coworker, but unless it’s her idea, she won’t like it.

It’s so easy to see the obvious when we’re not the ones in the situation. That sucks for your friend, but your advice was the right advice. Unfortunately she’s the one who has to see it. Ugh…

One of the best fundraisers that I have done is a raffle. We did a romantic getaway weekend, a local massage therapist donated a 2 for 1 deal (2 1/2 hour massages for the price of 1) and we got 2 nights at a nice hotel for 1 night and a 2 for one dinner, went over really well.

Glad you got re-inspired. I definitely need to get motivated and get going again before the holidays creep up on me.

LOL…I HAVE to remember that Slinkies line.
