Weigh Day: Let the games begin…
Another 2 lbs gone at weigh-in today! LOL I am beating my body into submission. I have come too far to be denied now, dammit. I am a member of the employee satisfaction committee at work. While discussing upcoming events, it was decided that we’ll serve apple pie and ice cream to celebrate the holiday. I asked if we could also provide frozen yogurt and was told to “be quiet, carrot girl!” LOL I’ll be handing out the fatty treats and eating my yogurt.
Triathlon training started this week! I am looking forward to kicking things up a notch and watching my body change. My biggest challenge will be nutrition. I know that I’ll have to increase my food intake (specifically carbs/protein) to fuel my body. I’m expecting some initial weight gain as my system adjusts and I will stay positive. My desire to be in this sport is more important than a number on the scale (we’ll see if this thought process changes after several weeks of miniscule gains…LOL) I’ve been riding the bike through my hilly neighborhood and it’s wonderful. My seat rocks, so no ass bruising yet. 🙂
In other fitness news, Chesty is studying for her ACE personal trainer certification exam! She will complete a prep course in October and take the exam in February. I’m glad that she’s taking her love of fitness to another level. She has created a major tri training schedule for us…so if I die, you know who’s responsible. I’m being forced to take a before picture in a sleeveless outfit to show weight training progress. Yuck…my arms are the bane of my existence.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!

And I bet you thought I wasn’t paying attention — amidst the sea of boxes, I’m finding time to check in. I just had to find out how you did today 🙂 Way to go!!!

You rock on the weight loss and the attitude. Isn’t it great to be in the middle of exercise and think, “this feels GOOD?”

I hate my arms too. I would really like them to quit ‘waving’ at people. Ew. Congrats on the weight loss!

2 pounds is fantastic! I’m weighing in today and I’m pretty frightened… a weekend in SoCal and I’m eating like I’m maintaining, only I’m not trying to maintain… sigh… back into it, I swear, I can do this!–

If you think your arms are bad, I’ll give you a peek at mine sometime.

Here’s another in the jiggly arm club. Ew. If you choose carbs with lots of fiber, I bet you won’t gain. And very lean protein. You are amazing, Carrot Girl!

I hear you on the arm thing. *grr*

I hate the feeling you get from a bad seat…

See, at this point, a “before” picture shouldn’t scare you. 🙂 All your pictures now are “after,” just by default. 🙂 It’s just that the weight-training “after” will be even sexier than the sexy you are right now. No worries. 🙂 You remain my hero. 🙂 Love,
