6/15 Journal

Aunt Flo is here (TMI, but it’s my diary), so this was a lazy weekend. Friday night I met a group of coworkers for dinner and a play. We ended up ditching the play in favor of shopping. I went a little crazy at Bath & Body Works. They are having a great sale right now. At Barnes and Nobles, I picked up the Complete Triathlon Book and the new Annie Lennox CD. Harry Potter will be out on 6/21! I’m a dork, but I love the series. In fact, I may kidnap my cousin so I can go to B&N’s Midnight book party without looking like a freak. LOL It would be too weird to go to an HP event without a little person.

Chesty and I went to a local bike shop today and dropped my bike off. They are charging me $50 for partial assembly and proper fitting. I was very impressed with the customer service. The owner answered all of our questions and talked to us for an hour. It looks like we’ll be spending a nice lump of cash to get started. A few things I plan to purchase in the next couple of weeks (if anyone has tried these products, please let me know):

-Shimano PD-M515 clipless pedals
-Specialized Comp Women’s Mountain bike shoe
-Trek Vapor helmet
-Cat Eye Velo 2 cyclometer
-Specialized Comfort Plus Women’s Saddle
-Seat bag, repair kit (no particular brand favored)

You look great! You know, when I gained weight a week ago and moped about it, I reread some of your entries to keep me on track. You inspire me. I have to go drag my dog around the block for my “walk o the day.”

Hey, you are not too tall; they are short 😉

You might want to consider mountain bike shoes. They have clips on them, just like the road shoes, but they also have a rubber sole that you can walk on without damaging the shoe/clip. Something to consider. Of course that’s what I have, and it saved my a$$ during the tri! 🙂

Uhh, ma’am? What?!? Lollipop gang kids? No. You are that tall. I’ll have you know I’m average height at 5’6″. Perhaps you should have been a basketball player, instead of a tri-diva. 😛
