Tawanda Turkey Tamer…
Well, I survived another holiday on WW. The majority of my family is from Louisiana, so our holiday spread has a cajun flair. Fried turkey, gumbo, red beans and rice…in addition to the usual soul food goodies. I had small portions of everything I wanted (even my Mom’s sinful mac and cheese…which I calculated at 9 points per cup). I managed to stay within my points range and not feel deprived. I definitely won the Battle O’ Bird.
I was able to tear my brother away from the food long enough to take a picture. I miss him so much while he’s away at school. *sniffsniff*
I woke up at 6 this morning and headed to the gym for 60 minutes of mixed cardio. I know it sounds crazy, but it made me feel great.
I’m going to be brave and battle the malls today. I love extreme shopping: crowds, rude folks, stroller dodging…good stuff.
Did everyone survive Thankgiving?
You look sooooooo great!!! Every time I see a pic you look better and better.. and more than just smaller… you look healthy and radiant. congrats on staying within your points yesterday… that is HUGE…

The thing I love about seeing photos of you and your brother is that you guys always seem to radiate this kind, happy energy. You both look like decent people. 🙂 Unless I missed it, you haven’t begun weight training yet, have you? Will TRI training include weights?
Warning Comment
RYN: YES! Do it! I want to read all the details. Seriously. I so totally admire how much you have educated yourself and take what you learn and apply it to changing your life. And, as selfish as this sounds, I want to live vicariously through you. I don’t think I’d do a tri because I am afraid of water, but I love to train as though I were doing one. Do you know what I mean?

You look great – I’m amazed everytime I look at your photos. I did my best to stay on track, but I gave up counting. I’m thinking this will be the first week I experience gain…ugh.

You look great, and congrats on staying within the points on the holiday. You are such an inspiration!

I didn’t count points, but we only ate dinner, with no lunch, so I should have come out ok. I tried to limit my seconds to the things that weren’t bad, like veggies. And I did go for a walk (short, b/c of the cold, but I stayed out as long as I could stand) Then, on Friday, we did the one meal thing again. What IS it w/ AP’s family?

Survived Thanksgiving, but not the post-T-day holiday onslaught. It’s like I metamorphed into my evil, sweet-loving twin.
