WW: Sex and the City style, bras, birthday goal

The episode last night was very interesting. One of the characters is trying to lose her baby weight and decided to buy a diet book. At the store, she decided on Fit or Fat (I believe). The checkout gal advised her that it was torture and she needed to go to Weight Watchers because it’s sensible and actually allows dessert.

The show promptly toys with our worst fear of having our weight announced to the entire group of fluffy folks (not that I care these days…I’ve shared it with the world). I liked the fact that they were able to have humor about her new weight loss adventure, but kept it realistic. The character meets a man at her meeting and goes out with him (to eat, of course). At the diner, they both agree that Krispy Kremes are divine and after discussing how many points are involved, decide to split one. In true Sex fashion, the guy advises they can earn some activity points to burn off the doughnut. 😉

It was nice to see that the show kept it real about her baby weight gain and the ability to lose weight without some crazy fad diet.

On a related note, my WW buddy Dana as finally reached the point where she no longer has to shop at Lane Bryant! Not only did she buy smaller clothes in a “regular” store, she actually told LB “goodbye”. You go, Diva!

Speaking of LB, Mom and I had a nice shopping trip. I picked up another skirt for work and a bra…in a smaller size. LOL Not a smaller cup size, thank the boob goddess. I now wear a 40C (and holding the “C” part, dammit). I started WW in a 52D…and I must say it’s nice to have the added weight/width gone.

The Official Birthday Goal

My birthday is September 18th and the goal is 150 lbs lost. I have 6 weigh-ins to lose 12.8 lbs…ambitious, but it can be done. Will I be upset if I don’t reach it? Of course not. Will all of downtown Dallas know if I reach the goal? Absolutely! 😉

I definitely think you can reach that birthday goal, girlie! 🙂

Wow. The bra size change really put it into perspective how much weight you’ve lost. Making a birthday wish for you that you’ll loose the 12.8 lbs. ~C~

Girl, I have no doubts that you’ll reach the birthday goal! I loved that SITC episode. It was too hilarious. RYN: E-mail me with the details about New Orleans when you get a moment. And along with my knees I have the arm thing going on, too. I know we’ll get it together before Hedonism rolls around!

That was a very “laugh out loud” episode for us WW gals, I must say! What a great plug for WW, and to get the word out that WW isn’t just for the ladies, hopefully more [single] men will give WW a try if they know they can meet single women in the weigh-in lines, lol. I have no doubt that you’ll make your birthday goal! You are one determined woman!!!

i ventured to lane bryant this past week and spent a whopping 150 dollars on two shirts and a skirt.if spending that much money on three pieces of clothes isn’t an incentive to lose weight i don’t know what is.

RYN: You got a deal Diva girlie! 🙂 Thanks so much! You are a constant source of encouragement!

Congratulations on the smaller bra! I have actually had to go UP in cup sizes (from a 42C to a 38DD now!) because I’m losing weight around, but not actual breast weight) and am waiting to lose some boobage. (I’m doing low-carb – WW just didn’t cut it for me, unfortunately – to each her own I s’pose.) And I’m *almost* to the point of being out of LB – I’m in their 14s. 🙂 Whee!

WW is such a great weight loss tool and I think that you have such a great attitude about it. I wasn’t feeling so healthy myself so I decided to try this myself and it is working great. Event hough I’m 17, I would recommend this diet as number one. Sex in the City is a great show and it makes me proud that they would handle the baby weight issue so excellently like that.

I’ve never seen Sex in the City, but that sounded like a good episode…like the idea for working off the donut. haha Wishing you well on your birthday goal.

Congratulations on your weight loss…I know you’ll reach your birthday goal. Hmmm…the thought of not shopping in LB…except I LOVE their clothes…that I would miss if I ever lose enough not to shop there.

you’ve lost 150lbs?????? well done!!!!!
