Dog Walk

We just got back from the dog walk thing. Sara couldn’t get into the park fast enough. When we first got there she was pullin’ like mad trying to get to all the people! She’s not great around other dogs, we didn’t do the best job socializing her around other dogs so she’s not used to being around them. The dogs she was around were pretty aggressive, not mean aggressive, but not shy like she is. She’s pretty submissive. She LOVES people. She had fun meeting all the new people.

First thing we did when we got there was panic briefly because in the rush to get out this morning we forgot our sunscreen!! I did, however, have some that I’d left in the car from our Maine trip. So that was lucky. I should probably just keep sunscreen in the car to be safe.

Anyway, the walk was nice, and we found out later that the walk alone raised $8000!! After the walk we grabbed some food at one of the booths and hung out. They had a little competition you could participate in. Best Trick, Best Small dog, Best Large dog and Best 6 legs. We watched that then watched a police dog demonstration. We left not long after that. The weather turned out great. It’s been nothing but rain lately so we really lucked out.

On the way home we stopped at the pharmacy and on the way home from there we spotted an old bench that someone was throwing out. It had the whole old, peeling paint thing goin’ on. But it looked nice otherwise. So we rushed home and hubby hopped in the Aspire to go get it. Turns out it’s an old church pew. It’s 6 feet long and oak. We’re going to refinish it and put it in the entryway. We’ve been wanting something like that for there! Right now it’s sitting on the porch.

Not much else going on. Hubby is picking up a pizza, Sara is pooped so she’s downstairs laying down somewhere. After dinner we’re going to cut grass and HOPEFULLY hubby will be up for setting up the pool. We’ll see though. He said “Maybe”. 🙂
