Goin’ to Oklahoma

I booked a flight this morning. I’ve been wanting to go to Tulsa to visit my family. I check periodically for good rates. This morning I found rates that were good. The entire round trip flight with fees and taxes and all that came out to $222.00. I usually rarely find anything under $300.00 so I booked it. I’m going to Tulsa August 16th-23rd! I’ll be going alone and staying with family so it won’t cost me much more than just the cost of the flight. No one ever lets me pay for anything when I’m there.

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ve never had to fly alone but I’m sure it’ll be fine. Both flights have layovers. I have a 3 hour layover on the way out at Chicago Midway. Then a hour and half layover on the way back in Baltimore. I usually feel better knowing I have long layovers, that way if a flight arrives late I won’t miss my connecting flight. I’ve done the hardly any layover thing before and nearly missed my flight because of technical problems on the first flight. My dad and I had to run through O’Hare and when we got there they’d been holding the flight for us! I’ve never taken Southwest before, only American, so the no assigned seats thing and whatnot will be different.

I look forward to just kinda hanging out with my family. I don’t plan to do much, just hang out and spend time with everyone. My dad should be out of prison by then and stuff so I should get to see him. I may try to see an old friend or two from high school too, we’ll see.

Not much else going on. Still settling back into the routine of being home. It’s gotten hot so here pretty soon I’m going to have to get hubby to help me set up the pathetipool. The pond won’t be warm enough for swimming for a little while. Not until we get some consistent 80 degree days and no rain for a little while.

That’s all for now.
