5/27/06

So, we got to Maine yesterday. The drive was uneventful since we left pretty early. Before we left we had to make sure our neighbor could give Casper his pill. That so didn’t go well, even though he knows her he didn’t want any part of her forcing something on him. She is crushing is up and giving it to him in milk though and that’s working a lot better for her.

We went to Portland first, I had a surprise for hubby but it wasn’t open. Since his birthday is tomorrow I was going to take him out on a lobster boat to catch lobster. It wasn’t open though so we ended up doing my backup plan which was lunch in a floating restaurant. Then we did a bit of shopping. Didn’t buy a lot though.

The ocean last night was incredibly foggy and was way out. We walked out to it and couldn’t see the hotel anymore. Couldn’t see much at all since the fog was so dense, it was awesome.

Today we walked along the beach a bit and went back to portland. Ended up not doing anything though since most of the tourist stuff doesn’t open ’til Memorial Day. We went back to the lobster boat thing and it was open but we decided not to wait. We’ll go back again sometime.

We spent the afternoon swimming. First we went about thigh deep in the ocean. It’s too cold to swim right now but we enjoyed the waves a bit. Then we swam in the hotel pool and relaxed in the hot tub. Now we’re waiting for dinner delivery out on the balcony listening to our noisy-ass neighbors yell back and forth because they’re too lazy to walk. Man, I miss having a private balcony. Anyway, dinner is here so I should go. Pictures coming soon.

I forgot to mention. I refuse to go home. 🙂 I told hubby earlier that he is going to have to go home without me. I love it here, the beach rules.
