Well, the vet called today with the results of the blood test Casper had yesterday. His thyroid hormone is within the normal range. The higher end of the normal range so she wants to keep him on the current pill dosage and test again in three months.

I’ve definitely noticed a difference in him. Before we found out yesterday that he’d put on a half a pound I thought I’d noticed he was a little plumper in the tummy, ever so slightly. The major change is his behavior. He isn’t as hyper, he sleeps more and he doesn’t follow me around nearly as much. He acts more like a typical cat.

I’m glad he’s feeling better. Hopefully he’ll start taking better care of himself and looking better too. I bathed him on Monday and have to do so about once a month to keep him looking nice. He wasn’t taking care of his fur much at, but that’s apparently common in cats with Hyperthyroid.

Not much else going on. Sara is going to the groomer tomorrow. Hubby called them today. We haven’t taken her in awhile, every time she goes she comes home clean and beautiful but with a horrible case of diarrhea. It’s just awful. We think it’s due to drinking their water. It’s in a different town and they have regular piped in city water whereas we have well-water. It’s a major change and dogs are sensitive to that kind of thing. They said we could bring in a jug of our water for her though and they’ll give her that so her tummy won’t get upset. Hopefully that will do the trick. There is nothing worse than a large-breed dog with the runs let me tell you. Especially when it hits them while you’re not at home to take them outside.

My new contacts are working out great. It appears that I am one of the people lucky enough to be able to wear them. That’s great because I was hardly wearing my contacts because of the problem with my eyes (my eyes weren’t getting enough oxygen). I was down to just wearing them a couple days a week. Now that I have lenses with 100% oxygen transmissibility I can wear them more often. Even though you can I don’t ever actually plan to sleep in them, except for maybe a nap during the day.
