So, thought I would update since I haven’t in awhile. Things have been pretty busy around here and I’ve been stressed. I haven’t wanted to write about any of the stuff because I had no idea how it all would turn out.
We had to take Casper to the vet. He’s been gradually losing weight despite eating normally. We scheduled an appt. for last Friday with a different vet than we normally use, one recommended by a friend. Our old vet is too far and this new one is less than a mile away. Friday morning, however, the phone rang and it was the vets office. I picked up figuring they were just calling to confirm our appointment. This however, was not the case. The receptionist informed me that they would have to cancel our appointment because the vet (it’s a one man shop) had injured himself pretty badly and was unsure when he’d be returning to work!! I thanked her for calling and then called my husband. Hubby scheduled an appointment with another vet just down the street from the one we were going to use. That appointment happened yesterday. The vet said exactly what I expected her to say. She said she suspected Casper has an overactive thyroid. She felt his thyroid, took some blood and we went on our way. We should have the results of that test some time today.
We’ve also been trying to refinance our house. Yeah, again. We’re getting into a fixed rate before the rates go up too much more. Right now we’re in an adjustable rate and we want out for obvious reasons. We got the loan no problem which is a first for us. We even got all the fees waived in order to get more cash out! It’s cool the kind of leverage you have when your credit is decent. We got a pretty cool deal too and the way this loan is set up it’s possible to pay it off in closer to 22 years than 30. Our goal is to pay our house off as soon as possible so it fits right in with our needs. Anyway, we close on that today.
Life is good otherwise. Depending on the weather I’d like to do some planting this weekend. I want to plant phlox, pansies and marigolds. We have to cut our grass for the first time this year this coming weekend. It could have used it last weekend but the weather was crap.
Anyway, that’s all for now.
