Hubby and I watched American Idol last night, I don’t know why I like that show so much, more than anything I’m just fascinated with the number of people who think they’re awesome singers yet they can’t carry a tune in a bucket, even though said bucket has a very strong handle and a very secure lid. I also think it’d be fun to audition, I can sing, I’ve even had training but I don’t think I’m quite what they’re looking for, I’ve not got the strong, vibrant personality.

After that we watched My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance. I feel sorry for that poor girl not knowing this guy is an actual actor. She’s got her work cut out for her if she wants that prize money. The type of guy that actor is portraying himself as is EXACTLY the kind of guy I could never be married to. I had a guy that was kind of like that who liked me in school. I was polite and went out on one date with him, that my friends, was the last time I ever went on a date with someone to be “polite”.

Hubby got all the storm windows off the outside of the house last night. They look pretty alright. I wasn’t sure about the bright white windows with our dark brown house. Hmm, I should post some before and after pictures. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do that.

We had to shovel our driveway last night. THAT SUCKED. There is nothing I hate more than being outside for long periods of time in the cold. Our plow guy needs his ass kicked. Y’see, we had a great plow guy last year, a friend of hubbys that did an excellent job. He’s not plowing anymore though so we hired this other guy that was doing the neighbors driveway. This other guy showed up to plow when we were in Oklahoma, well, we’ve noticed it looks like he’s been by a couple times since then to collect the pay for that job (we’ve seen footprints in the snow and stuff), but he always comes by when we’re not home. Like during the day, while we’re at work. We don’t have his number or address or anything so we can’t look him up and he doesn’t bill, he just comes by to collect. He’s apparently too stupid to come by when we might actually be home. This last snow came and he never showed up to plow. He’s officially not our plow guy anymore, eff him and his only coming by during the day shit. Some people have to *gasp* work during the day.

My job is weird now. My new boss is really putting me out of my comfort zone. I’m dealing with people a lot more all of a sudden. In a way it’s annoying cuz he’s shoving the annoying things like setting up meetings and stuff onto me. Part of that though is because he’s too incompetant to work the Room Reservation Database in Lotus Notes. He’s not at all technical. He puts me on the spot a lot, I have to collect my thoughts and speak in front of people. When I have ideas I have to “present” them. Anyone who knows me knows I’m very reserved, I don’t speak up most of the time unless it’s something really important. Instead of being the person that’s listening and taking orders, I’m becoming someone who has to have ideas and opinions and I have a say in some of what goes on. It’s good for me though, I know it is, I need someone force me out of my comfort zone once in awhile, because I won’t step outside of it on my own. And of course, what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger, right?

I’m getting a laptop for work here pretty soon. *jumps up and down* I’m taking my old supervisor’s laptop. My new supervisor said he’d buy me a brand new one but would rather I “test drive” one first to make sure I like the whole laptop thing. If I do, he said he’d budget for a new one for me next year. I’m really looking forward to that because working from home can be a serious pain in the butt right now. It’ll also be nice to uninstall all my work programs off my home computer. Hell, since Neverwinter can run on Linux I could lose windows at home and switch completely to Linux if I wanted!

I should go now. 🙂 Stuff to do.
