This new boss thing is weird. For once I have like, a real supervisor. I don’t really want a real supervisor.

He kind of reminds me of the boss dude in “Office Space”.

I have an objective for January now though. I am to acquire and read the entire manual on our Content Management System. He wants me to become an “Ektron Expert” as he said. He see’s us putting all our manuals in CMS, then he see’s me training the content managers on how to use the CMS system so they can maintain their own content, with me helping the users when they have questions. *cringes at thought of users managing their own content*

I also get to enjoy weekly status meetings.

This is weird to say the least.

Oh yeah, and if I’m going to be out sick I have to call him, if I want to call before 8am I am to call him at home. He said he wants to know exactly where I am if I’m going to be out for any reason.

The actual meeting felt like I was interviewing for my job. He did the ole “So, tell me a little about yourself”. He wanted to know where I learned everything I know, did I take computer classes in school, did I go to college? Where did I go to High School? When did I get hired at HSB, how did I find out about the position? Where did I learn HTML? On and on. Then he wanted me to explain what I do here, I had to explain to him what RoboHelp was, what I do in Notes.

He has this annoying habit of smacking his lips together when he’s thinking. The sound makes me cringe. He also has the habit of using phrases like “Blah, blah” and “Yadda yadda”. Typical manager type. I have a feeling the new boss is going to grate on the nerves. I’m looking forward to starting my Psych degree program now, the sooner I do the sooner I’ll be my own boss. *cringes at thought of how long it’s going to take to complete this part-time*

Anyway, I have to go acquire a CMS Manual because “Any free time this week should be spent becoming an Ektron Expert”. *bangs head on desk* *rubs head*.
