Current Music: My Cake CD just finished
So, I didn’t elaborate on the Notary that was over last night. She was a little weird and made me pretty uncomfortable. She’s one of those people that asks questions and then it just feels like her eyes are burning right into your soul as she anticipates your answer. Sitting directly across from her at the table for an hour was PURE TORTURE. She made me so nervous I couldn’t even think straight. She was a nice woman though overall, I liked her okay but her way of talking and staring made it hard for me to answer even the simplest questions.
She said her husband would absolutely die in our house, lol. He’s apparently severly allergic to cats. We have 5 adult cats and 3 kittens. 🙂 Thankfully she wasn’t allergic to cats, at least not too badly, she did look a little bothered but not too badly. If you don’t know if you’re allergic to cats come over to our place, you’ll know in a matter of minutes. 🙂 I should probably actually take some time out and wash all the curtains and clean the rugs and stuff. Considering how many pets we have I should probably do that more often. I’m considering trying that fabreeze allergen reducer stuff. I wonder if it works on cat dander. Hmm.
Sophie sucks. Everyone just adores Sophie. For a simple tabby she really is quite pretty, and she seems sweet at first. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE comes in and says “Oh, what a pretty cat, and so friendly” then they stoop down and pick her up, then what does Sophie do?? She bites. ARGH! Hubby has gotten quick at saying “That cat’s aggressive”. Before people pick her up now.
Hubby seems to think I should be able to start classes next Semester, in January. I’ll probably start with just one class to get back into the swing of things. We’re stopping at the college tonight to pick up a list so we’ll know which classes transfer to UCONN and which don’t. I’ll probably try to start in with one class, something relatively easy like Intro to Psychology which I’ve already pretty much taken. The community college classes aren’t much tougher than high school and I took an Intro to Psych in High School and had no problem holding a solid A in that class. Then after I get back into the swing of school and homework I’ll try some of the core general ed classes. Maybe Biology, something easy. *shrugs* I’m not looking forward to the math and english, at least I’m good at English…sort of. I’ve always been able to keep an A in English, at least in high school.
Anyway, oh yeah. lol, that Notary last night. When she found out I am originally from Oklahoma she looked surprised and said “But you don’t have an accent.” I get that a lot. Everyone expects me to have a cute little southern accent. I’ve never had an accent. That’s another thing that coincides with me having AS, most people with AS don’t pick up local accents. Having an accent doesn’t work well for singing either, my singing teachers were all very big on clear and proper pronunciation of words. When I’m not being lazy I speak very clearly and very properly, short of some of the phrases I use you’d never guess I was born and raised an Okie. 🙂 My dad always called me a “misplaced yankee”. I don’t sound like I’m from Oklahoma and I don’t fit in down there, AT ALL! My beliefs, my values, my opinions and ideas are all very, very different from most southerners. I fit in much better up here.
*sigh* Thursday. I’ve already finished what work I had to do today. I left my boss yesterday trying to figure out answers to a couple questions I had on a small project. This morning she had answers and I was able to do what needed done in about half an hour. I do have to go through and double check the work I did for Marlene the other day but other than that I’m going to be sitting around bored all day. I’m sure tomorrow will be worse, Fridays are usually so quiet. Maybe I can do some filing or something. *sighs* I don’t really want to but I probably should.
Febreze Allergin Reducer DOES work on cat dander. My boyfriend is deathly allergic to cats and I find if I keep my apartment dust free, wash everything on the bed, keep the cat brushed and as hair free as possible, and use Febreze on everything that is or isn’t nailed down, his allergies aren’t so bad. lol.
Warning Comment
I don’t have an accent, either, and I lived the first five years of my life there. My mother still does, though!
