I’m surprised OD is still up. The diarymasters entry said around 7am and it’s 7:30am. I thought he was Eastern Time but I’m not sure. Either way, I’m typing my entry in Notepad this morning just in case. I’m looking forward to OD 4.0. As soon as it’s up and running I’m going to overhaul my OD with my favorite shade of purple and stuff. 🙂 I think the thing I’m most excited about is the fact that we’ll be able to enter our own hex codes. The shades of purple currently available aren’t quite deep enough for my liking. 🙂

Anyway, there’s a hole in my coffee cup this morning. *frown* It’s a tiny imperfection in the styrofoam. I hate styrofoam. Not only is it obnoxious because imperfections in it are common and it’s easy to break but it’s not good for the environment. I should just fucking make coffee at home in the morning. I have one of those Gevalia coffee makers and we hardly use the damn thing. It looks nice sitting on the counter though! *rolls eyes*.

I had quite the rude awakening yesterday afternoon when I learned that the test animals used by the Iams company are being mistreated and denied much needed vetrinary care. They’re owned by Proctor and Gamble, which I also didn’t realize. Proctor and Gamble is known for animal testing and poor treatment of animals. I used to recommend Iams brand pet foods and am no longer doing so. I will now be recommending the slightly more expensive all natural pet food made by Old Mother Hubbard. It’s called “Wellness”. I’ve used this brand before, it’s one of the best on the market. All the ingredients used in the food are made with food approved for human consumption. In addition their pet food test animals are their own beloved pets. So I will officially be switching all the cats and Sara over to Wellness. I will also be making sure I no longer purchase any Proctor and Gamble products. I’m going to have to look around online for a full list of their products. I despise animal testing for what it’s become. A lot of the abuse I read about yesterday regarding Iams was simple neglect and not caring. Things that could be prevented along with some dogs killed just so they could look at the muscles in the animals. I read some other stuff yesterday about organizations giving money to animal research. The research being done is beyond sick, sewing the eyes of kittens shut and killing them after a year, things of that nature. This stuff is being funded by things like the March of Dimes. A lot of people think animal research is a necessary evil and maybe to a degree it is. But pointless abuse is not to be tolerated. I don’t believe animals are here on this earth for my gain. Animals feel pain, animals have emotions, it is my duty to protect them, not see if I can find a way to cure my Acid Reflux or something using their bodies.

I have also decided to start collecting “My Little Ponies”. I had no idea how many collectors are out there! They’re not worth much or anything unless they happen to be rare but that doesn’t really matter to me. The My Little Ponies were my favorite toy as a kid and I still have all of the one’s I had as a kid. They were sitting on a shelf until last night. I decided to try to clean them up a bit. I read that if you use conditioner on their hair it will lay down nicely and look new again. So I did what any weird person would do and took them into the shower with me. 🙂 I conditioned their hair and lined them up on top of the shower doors to dry. This morning their hair was silky smooth and looked brand new!! 🙂 I think collecting them will be fun. I’ll have to get hubby to build me a cabinet for them. It also gives me something to look for at flea markets and antique stores other than old musical instruments which are usually too expensive for my pocketbook. 🙂 So if anyone happens to have any My Little Ponies in their attic they need to unload e-mail me!!! (brandi@nilesweb.com) Like I said, they’re not worth a lot, but if there’s a rare one in the collection or something I wouldn’t cheat anyone on it. I e-mailed my mom last night to have her check my stuff to see if I’d left any of my My Little Pony stuff there. Apparently I didn’t and I had two houses for them as a kid, a castle and a stable. I don’t know what happened to those. 🙁

Anyway, I should probably get to researching on proctor and gamble so I can get to work after that. My boss actually gave me work, it’ll probably only take about 10 mins but eh, it’s something. 🙂
