So, I got my hair cut today. I decided to try a new place, another walk-in place but a place in the mall instead of supercuts. They were able to take me right away, which was awesome. The woman I got was really nice. She checked and double checked that I was sure I wanted my hair THAT short. I told her yeah, that I’m sick of having hair in my face all the time and stuff. She nodded and went to work. It’s a little shorter than the picture I showed earlier, but that’s okay, I expected that much. It has room to grow out when I procrastinate getting my hair cut again. 🙂

I don’t have a picture yet but am going to have hubby take one of me in the morning before work. He has class tonight until 10:30pm, I’ll probably be asleep when he gets home unless he gets lucky and gets to come home early. I probably get to cut his hair tomorrow night. 🙂 He’s due for a trim, I can easily cut his hair, it’s too bad he can’t cut mine!!

After I left the hair place I stopped in at the pharmacy in the mall to pick up hair dye. After hubby left for school I re-dyed my blonde and grey roots to black. 🙂 While dying my hair though I heard a kitten. I had the bathroom door closed. The cats have a bad habit of jumping up on the sink while I’m dying my hair. Not cool. Anyway, I finished up and cleaned up the dye mess and opened the bathroom door. To my surprise the little grey kitten was sitting right outside the bathroom door. No sign of Sophie. UGH!!! Frustrated, I scooped up the kitten and carried him to the closet where I found Sophie had spread all her kittens around, I ended up coaxing Sophie out of the bedroom and shutting the door. I didn’t want her dragging them out of the room again while I rinsed my hair. After I rinsed my hair, dryed off and got dressed again I went into the closet and sat down with the kittens. Sophie joined me and laid down to nurse them. I sat for awhile until the kittens finished up nursing and started to fall asleep. By that time Kenny was at the closet door begging me for attention but I also had fish tanks I had to get cleaned. I pet kenny for awhile then changed my fish tanks and checked on the kittens again. They were all where I left them, sound asleep. I decided to go downstairs for a little while and Kenny joined me on the couch. Sophie followed me as well and dissapeared after a few minutes. I was slightly concerned that she might try to bring her kittens downstairs so I decided to go watch TV upstairs. I peeked in and Sophie was laying with her kittens. She’s still there as I type. I’m watching a show called “Trauma, Life in the ER” on TLC, it’s kind of cool because coincidentally the ER is Oklahoma University’s, pretty cool considering I’m from Oklahoma originally. 🙂

I think Sophie is a good mommy, it’s weird that she keeps bringing us her kittens, but to be honest, I think it’s because she needs us. She was so happy and content while I was there with her while she was nursing. She wanted nothing more than for me to sit there and scratch her little head. I think she needs reassurance, and company. I’m really happy that she’s so comfortable with us around her kittens but I don’t really like her dragging them all over the house. I’ll just try to sit with her more often. 2 more weeks and the kittens should be ready to start weaning off of Sophie’s milk, within 3-4 weeks they shouldn’t need her so much. I can give more of my time to her, it’s not like I have that much else to do anyway.

Only problem is the other cats are having some problems with all the attention Sophie is getting. Kenny seems especially lonely. He’s been following me around, meowing at me tonight. As a matter of fact I think I’ll close and give him some cuddles, he just hopped up on the bed.

And I promise I’ll have pictures of the new do tomorrow morning. 🙂

Poor Kenney! But he’ll adjust. Can’t wait to see the photo of the new ‘do!
