Just thought I’d write real quick about our kitten with the tail problem I mentioned yesterday.
We took him to the vet and the vet amputated the tail. That was really hard to watch. It took all I had not to burst into tears. I kept telling myself “this is a good thing, we’re fixing the kitty, it’s crying now, but it’ll feel better in the long run”.
Now the kitty is back home and happily nursing. That was scary, taking a 2 day old kitten to the vet alone, the vet seemed to think it’d be okay to do that without the mom. So that’s what we did. I took the towel they’d been on all day yesterday since it was covered in scent and that seemed to help keep him calm and comforted.
I’m feeling better now. All the kittens are perfect now, happy and healthy. 🙂 Never in my life did I think anything would be wrong with any of them. When this one came out missing part of it’s tail I had hoped it would look better by the next day. At least it wasn’t something serious.
It turned out to be a really cheap trip too, hehe. We got out of there for $2.00. They didn’t charge us for the amputation, just the office visit. But we had some heartworm pills that Sara has outgrown to return to them so the refund on the leftover pills covered most of the visit.
Anyway, we have a ton of stuff to do today so off I go.
Wow — no charge for the tail amputation???? You’ve got some kind of a good vet, there! I NEVER get out of the vet’s office for under $50!!!!!!!!!!!!!
