Sophie had her Kittens!!
When we walked through the door today after work Sophie was at our feet meowing LOUDLY. Then she laid down and looked to be have some contractions! I moved her leg and there was discharge. Woohoo, time for kittens. She was following me so I ran upstairs and over to the spot we had set up for her. She crawled right in and laid down and started having more contractions. After a little while she had her first kitten.
She did great. She did everything to the letter and it took her two hours. All the kittens are healthy and nursing now. She had four little black one’s and then surprised us with a fifth one, the fifth one is grey.
And now, on with the pics:
Sophie’s resting now but we can’t leave her. I’m sitting in here on the laptop typing. Only one of us can leave at a time. She gets bothered if even one of us leaves, so at least one of us is staying in here at all times, for now. she’s really clingy right now. I did go out and pick up a pizza. Discovered I got paid sometime between the time I left work and 6pm or so. phew!
And that’s that, I’m going to go send my mom the news. 🙂
awww! i am so excited! congratulations to you and sophie both! the kittens are adorable. i especially love that fifth little gray one. it reminds me of my baby “punker butt”…who reminds me of your cat, kenny! whew! again, congratulations on the new arrivals and on the bank thing working out!

Maybe Sophie will settle down now! Glad the kittens came and they’re all healthy. Dad must’ve been a black cat, huh. Hey, isn’t that stray in your woods black, or grey? Do you think they’ll be long-haired cats? How long do you keep the kittens before you give them away, 8 weeks? I think 8 weeks is too soon to give puppies up, but breeders do it all the time. 12 weeks is probably better.
