On the ride into Hartford there’s a small hill you go over at the same time you’re coming around a corner. When you clear the corner and are at the top of the hill the tall buildings in downtown Hartford come in to view. Today those buildings didn’t come in to view. There is a very thick fog in the air today. We couldn’t see Hartford until we were on the bridge that ends the highway. It’s always a shock to come over the hill and not see Hartford. Kind of makes you think.

Last night I paid bills, always a depressing hour that is.

After I finished the bills hubby ordered take out. I enjoyed some of the best manicotti in the world from the pizza place down the street.

After dinner we gave zippy a full cleaning. Hubby took care of the vaccuming. I dusted and polished the entire interior. We pulled off the seat covers and got all the pet hair off. Then we washed the exterior. This morning I sprayed that shiny stuff on the tires that makes them look shiny & wet. I still have to freshen up the rain-x on the windows but the car looks brand new again. 🙂 Cleaning Zippy makes me miss my Datsun. Every Saturday I religiously cleaned and detailed that car. Usually took about two hours. I’d vaccum, spot treat the carpet if needed. Clean and polish the interior, tighten any loose interior screws. Then I’d move on to the outside, scrub and dry the outside, clean and polish the aluminum wheels. I’d scrub the whitewalls until there were no traces of dirt. Then I’d finish off with the wet shiny stuff on the tires and once a month I’d rain-x it. Seeing that car sitting in the barn breaks my heart. The extra sucky part is all I need is an extra $600.00 or so to get it running again. Such a piddly amount to so many people, it’s a ton to me.

*sigh*

I thought about opening a CafePress store or something. Maybe take some artsy photographs and original artwork and stuff and put them on shirts and things. The stores are free to open and it would mean extra cash if stuff actually sold.

They’re thinking about building a Wal-Mart Supercenter or a Home Depot a mile down the street from our house. *cringe* I sincerely hope this doesn’t get approved. They’re trying to build on wetlands so it’s not that easy to get approved but it’s possible. I don’t even want to think about what’s going to happen to traffic if they build this shit. It’s bad enough already. We originally bought this house not only because it was the house hubby grew up in and loved but because it felt like it was in the sticks somewhat. We like the fact that we have to get on the highway and drive 15 mins to get to the closest walmart. We REALLY like that. If this wal-mart goes in we’ll be seriously considering moving as soon as we possibly can. If a home depot goes in we’ll be able to tolerate it a little better but we’ll still want to move. We live in a town that doesn’t believe in chains, they believe in the value of mom and pop shops and small stores. The only chain we have is a Subway and it’s on the edge of town by the highway. We live on the other side, the other edge of town a mile from Vernon. Vernon LOVES chains and welcomes them with open arms. Maine is sounding pretty good again. 🙂

Anyway, I should get to work. I think Michele is going to be pleasantly surprised on Monday. She gave me a TON of stuff to get into the directory but didn’t set my deadline until September 1st. She doesn’t know me very well, I work a hell of a lot faster than that. I have all of it completed and it will be going down to the help-desk for testing today and released on Monday. Booyeah! 🙂

Ugh, Wal Mart and Home Despot. We got ’em here. It’s traumatizing to go into those places.
