Weekend of Projects
We’ve got more projects going on than you can shake a stick at this weekend. I’m not going to make it to the band concert for two reasons. Number of projects being one and the second being that the car isn’t running quite right and the actual appointment to get it fixed isn’t until Wednesday. No need to take Zippy on a one-hour drive out to Thompson, CT. It’s just a sensor but hey, the sensor that’s not working properly could lead to extra wear and tear on the transmission. So in my opinion it’s in the best interest of the car to only do what’s necessary.
This morning we staked and caged our tomato plants, they’re getting big and they’re flowering!!! Woohoo flowers mean we’re going to have tomato’s growing soon! Yay for tomato’s. It’s also time we dig up the corn and move the extra seedlings to fill in the gaps in the two rows that didn’t do well. Right now hubby is outside digging up the roots of the forsythia bushes he cut down; they were taking over the barn. I’m going to be planting sunflowers out there when he finishes. The sunflowers should look really neat growing up next to the old barn. Not to mention we can eat the seeds if the birds don’t do it for us. π I’m currently working on filling Sara’s pool. Took forever but it’s finally standing on it’s own. We’ll probably wait and let it warm up a bit tomorrow before we let her use it. Tomorrow we’ll be trekking out into the woods behind our house to find pine tree’s to transplant out in front of our yard. We’re going to use them as a privacy fence. I get fucking sick of people gawking and yelling when they drive by. Not to mention my husbandΒs father is constantly commenting on various things in our yard, like the grass needing cut. It gets old, time for some privacy. π
I’m going to be keying in all my recipes into a Microsoft Access database. We scanned all the one’s we got from hubby’s mom this morning. I’ll key those in along with various other one’s and I can print them all out on nice thick paper and make a recipe book. Not to mention they’ll all be nicely stored in an Access Database and it’ll save wear and tear on my cookbooks. I’m kind of a sloppy cook, thanks to me being a klutz; most of my favorite recipes are spotted with food. π
We um, went to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner. We decided we deserved to splurge on a nice dinner since we rarely do that. We haven’t been anywhere THAT expensive in over a year. Their creamy onion soup is to die for, if you like onions that is, hubby would beg to differ. I had chicken, I doubt I’ll be able to give up the occasional bit of chicken, I love it too much. And cheesecake for desert, smothered in chocolate sauce. Remember that ten pounds I lost? Well, I’m working on gaining it back lol. Not really, but sure felt like it this evening. π I’d LIKE to lose 50 lbs by October. I don’t think that’s a very realistic goal though so I’m going to shoot for 20 and see what happens. 20 lbs by October would average me about 5 lbs per month. Hell, if I just lose 10 more I’ll be happy because it’s loss. I’m certainly not going to beat myself up over this like I have in the past; it’s not worth it.
Well, looks like hubby is almost finished with his root pulling so I should probably gather my gardening tools. π
“. . . than you can shake a stick at” That’s an Okie expression for sure! I say it all the time! People up here look at me as if I’m nuts. I have other Okie expressions, too. Oh brother. I think you’re just going to have to send me some of those tomatoes. I can already taste them!
