Well, the dip in the pool was nice. The first four-six inches of the water were HOT. Once it was mixed in with the cold on the bottom it felt GREAT!!
Today was nice despite having the car in the garage. They were nice enough to courtesy shuttle us home but we had to take a taxi to get back. My first taxi ride EVER. It was cool until the guy started actually driving! He was a horrible driver. I almost said something going down the hill because he damn near rear-ended a car behind a turning UPS truck. He was swerving around, not using his signal and he took the exit ramp WAY TOO FAST. I take exit ramps faster than most people but I don’t jerk my passengers around. I was just happy to actually arrive safely at the Hyundai dealer.
We tried vegetarian beef and sausage today. I bought some Boca sausage links, which we had this morning. They were good. They tasted like sausage covered in soy sauce to me. It’s a little weird tasting soy sauce at breakfast. We got Morningstar brand “ground beef” when I first opened the packet I stuck my nose in and sniffed. It smells exactly like Pemmican brand Teriyaki beef jerky. That threw me for a loop because um, beef jerky in my hamburger helper? It was really good though but tasted more like beef jerky than ground beef to me. The texture was weird too, mushier than real ground beef. It was good though. I bought three packages of it so we could try three different recipes. I’m making meatless tacos tomorrow. mmmmm. I should add that hubby liked it too so that’s good. He actually preferred the meatless sausages to real sausage! I do too considering I don’t have to worry about what weird shit I’m going to find in my sausage, or if I’ll bite something hard. I just have to get used to tasting soy.
We took Sara over to hubby’s mom’s house this evening. Her and her husband are camping in Cape Cod this weekend so we thought we’d go visit their dog and raid the recipe cabinet. We got there and the dog wasn’t there, apparently they’d left her with someone, most likely hubby’s grandpa. So Sara ended up playing with the toys that were lying around while we raided the recipes. Sara had so much fun with the toys that we decided she needed a new one at home. 🙂 So we went out to Petsmart and got her a fleece looking bone shaped thing. It’s really cute; she wanted it really bad when I was carrying it around in the store. I didn’t want to hand it to the cashier with slobber on it though so I didn’t let her have it. 🙂 She played with that in the car on the way home and made sure to grab it and carry it into the house with her after parading it around the yard a bit. She’s goofy. She’s really good in the car though, she’ll get into her crate and lay down to play with whatever toys we have in there with her. This is great considering we’re planning to drive to Oklahoma with her in October. She’s a good girl.
Did I mention the crazy thing my hubby has started doing?? He’s taking Sara jogging, daily, he originally planned on once a day but is doing it twice a day now. Before work and in the evening. Evening is cool but do you know what time “before work” means to us???? 5am!!!!! My hubby is out jogging at 5am!! My ass sleeps through that, I don’t jog, ever, and especially not at 5am. I’m too much of a klutz to jog, I have enough trouble just walking and not falling on my ass.
I weighed myself and I’ve lost weight!! Woot!!! I don’t know exactly how much I’ve lost because I refused to weigh myself over the winter. I always put on weight over the winter. BUT apparently this year I didn’t because I weigh less now than I did last fall by close to ten pounds.
Guess that’s it.
G’Night! 🙂
