I Wouldn’t Make a Good Mayor

I’ve discovered that, under no circumstances, should I ever be allowed to run a city. So far the only way I’ve been able to keep my cities afloat in Sim City 4 is by using cheats to raise the bank balance. 🙂 My city loves me sure, they’ve got billions of dollars but my ass should probably be thrown in jail. lol

That damn game, I swear, the main income is taxes but if you overtax your citizens they’ll bitch and leave. If you don’t tax them enough you’ll go in the hole trying to provide for their basic needs. You give ’em one fire department and they bitch that there aren’t enough fire departments. Well, how’d you like it if you had NO fire departments eh? How does that make you feel?

So yeah, seems the only way I can win is by “borrowing” money. I guess that’s my life story.

The refinancing on the house fell through. You have to have owned it for a year so now we’re trying for a simple home equity loan. You only have to have been homeowners for 6 months for that. We’re using lending tree, where the lenders compete for you. *rolls eyes* We’ve got some decent looking offers, we’ll see if they still look decent after talking to them on the phone and having them take a gander at the ole credit report. Our credit reports are okay, just overextended so that’s good at least. I’ve never made a late payment on ANY of my cards, woohoo. But being overextended lowers your rating so that sucks.

I told my parents I’m planning to go to college. My mom probably didn’t get her e-mail yet since I sent it last night and she left for Vegas this morning. Dad wrote back though and said he was happy. He always wanted to see me go to college and do better than he has in life. He was always pushing me to be a Surgeon because they make a lot of money. Honestly though, I’m not out to make a ton of money. I just want to be able to make a difference in this world, even if just a small one.

So anyway, I’m bored out of my mind. Hubby is sitting behind me playing his new game. I was playing Sim City 4 until I realized I’m just failing horribly as a mayor. I think I’ll go bug hubby to entertain me. 🙂

Making a difference is what counts. Psychologists COULD make a ton of money if they worked all the time, but I’m not into tons of money, plus I’m lazy, so I don’t work very hard and I’m making it just fine. Also, it’s the most rewarding job in the Universe. In my humble opinion! I don’t think I’d make a very good mayor, either.
