Memories Continued

I remember going out for mexican food every Friday night with my mom.

I remember coming home one night to find our house was full of smoke. I remember unplugging everything and getting the pets out. I remember lots of firetrucks. I remember the firemen saying there was no fire. When my step dad came home he sniffed the air and said it was an electrical fire. The fireman told him that it wasn’t. Come to find out it was an electrical fire and luckily the fire was contained in the heater closet in the garage.

I remember spending the summer with my dad and step-mom.

I remember my stepmom filling my head with lies about how my mom didn’t love me because she smoked and drank. I remember being told that I needed to live with my dad so I could be a good Christian. I ended up moving in with my dad and step-mom

I remember going on vacation to Guthrie, Oklahoma. I remember the Mason temple there was amazing. I wanted to live there. I also found out my grandparents were Masons and was asked if I would like to join. I declined.

I remember camping. I always stayed in my little pup tent because I didn’t believe you could really camp in a camper. 🙂 I also remember wishing I’d slept in the camper when I had to pee in the middle of the night.

I remember summer camp and my first boyfriend. I dumped him because he always wanted to have his arm around me and he liked to kiss. I didn’t really like to be touched at all.

I remember getting a kitten that I named Casper.

I remember my dad picking me up from school one day and asking me if I was happy. When I nodded he said “Good, you should be.” because he’d bought me a car. When I first saw the little 1982 Datsun 280zx sitting in the parking lot of his shop I cringed. I hated it although I told my dad it was nice. It took awhile for the little rice burner to grow on me. I still have that car although it has a blown head-gasket. It’s my baby and I wish I could afford to get it fixed.

I remember meeting a guy in youth group. I remember thinking we’d be together forever, then I found out he’d cheated on me with a guy.

I remember marching band being torture but worth it when we won first place at Nationals.

I remember meeting a really neat guy online and falling madly in love with him.

I remember running away from home. I remember the nice guy who helped me carry my luggage in the Tulsa bus station. I remember the St.Louis bus station being scary. I remember the Chicago bus station was very bright and busy. The bus station in Ohio was rediculously huge and empty. I remember commenting on how beautiful the mountains were to the Pennsylvania police officers. I remember the people at the runaway shelter asking too damn many questions.

I remember my dad finally coming to terms with the fact that I was going to marry the guy I ran away to see.

I remember the weird feeling I had in the pit of my stomach the day my dad drove away from my new home in CT on his way back to Oklahoma.

I remember a lot of other things too but I’m running out of time. 🙂

These were great entries. I love my “rice burner” too! 😉
