2 days until we get our puppy

Well, more like a day and a half or so actually. 🙂

We’ve been doing some spring cleaning/puppy-proofing today. Our house is not at all puppy-proof. I keep all my musical instruments out, we throw clothes and shoes all over the place, I had glass decorations down low. I stick this putty stuff under my glass decorations that were expensive or special to me in some way. They keep charging cats from knocking them over and stuff. It doesn’t matter how well behaved your cats are, when they get the midnight crazies they suddenly forget all the rules about which surfaces are okay and which are not. 🙂 Hell, we even caught our most well behaved cat scratching the couch today, this is our half siamese Kenny that is known for attacking the other cats for breaking the no scratch on furniture rule. 🙂

How did I get on the topic of cats?

Anyway, that damned dog crate is NOISY. I dropped the chew toys in there today and scared the shit out of myself. So we’re going to go tomorrow and buy some rugs at the dollar store to pad the plastic section from the metal section underneath. The thing will still clang but at least the noisiest part will be better. It’ll probably feel better to have something soft underneath there anyway so she doesn’t feel the bars. We can’t give her a blanket or anything until she understands for sure that she’s not to go to the bathroom in her crate. 🙁 We’re going to go to petco tomorrow and get one of those water bottles that attaches to the outside of the crate. My first thought when I was those was “My god she’s not a fucking hamster.” But the more we thought about how much it would suck for her if she spilled her water bowl the more it started to sound like a good idea. Good for traveling as well.

I am so fucking excited I can’t hardly contain myself but ask my hubby if he’s excited and what do you get? A fucking shrug. My hubby can’t get excited, he’s not capable or that emotion or something. I remember just before the wedding I was like “Aren’t you excited??” and he just looked at me and fucking shrugged!! When we first got married this was kind of a problem because it make me feel like he didn’t care, especially since he wasn’t even excited about our god-damned wedding!! He said he’s looking forward to getting the puppy, I know he is but it’s so weird. 🙂 We’re both actually looking forward to the adult dog stage. Puppy stage will be a blast but it’s a lot more work. When she’s an adult she’ll be more of a buddy. But I guess it’s that way with anything. At least puppy stage doesn’t last 18 years. We’ll have to take a ton of pictures too, she’s going to be an adorable little one.

Our puppy goes for her puppy shots tomorrow. That’s why we can’t pick her up until Tuesday. The breeder lets them go home after they’ve had their first vet visit and first set of shots. She said she’d let them go home right after the vet visit but likes to watch them overnight in case they have a reaction to any of the vaccine’s.
