18 days till we get our puppy 🙂

I’m worried about our cat Kenny. As excited as I am about the puppy it’s hard not to worry as well. Kenny hasn’t been the same since he got attacked by a dog a few months ago. He’s now not just afraid of dogs, he’s terrified of them. When I came home with dog smell on my shirt he looked at me with terror in his eyes and last night something else happened. I was watching animal planet while hubby was at school. A dog on TV made a sad whimper noise and Kenny stood up, looked around all worried and ran off. I have a feeling getting Kenny comfortable with the dog is going to take a lot of time and a lot of patience. The good thing is that we’re starting with a puppy that isn’t going to hurt the cats, the bad thing is I don’t know if the cats will try to hurt her. We’ll see how they do, we can always keep them totally seperated while we’re not home.

It’s 1 degree farenheit today here in Hartford and on the way in to work we saw a guy, dressed in a cupid outfit, standing in front of the news building. He was up by the glass waving in to the news people, probably trying to get attention and get on the news. He looked rather pathetic. We all know cupid doesn’t wear much and it’s 1 degree outside, that guy is a nut-job.

I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s day. It’s a hallmark holiday and I was the kid in school that never got many valentine’s. Plus, once your married Valentine’s day is useless b/c you have an Anniversary to celebrate anyway. Hubby does have a little surprise for me though and he’s taking me out to dinner although I don’t know where, he won’t tell me. I’ll have to update on where we went over the weekend or on Monday.

Have a good dinner, wherever you go (be sure to keep your coat on 😉 while you eat!). Talk to your vet about Kenny. He or she can tell you how to re-condition your cat so that he’s not afraid of the new pup.
